To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A really outstanding hotel in the heart of Rome. Easy walking distance to everything. The staff is exceptional and the hotel really runs flawlessly. The breakfast was delicious. It really is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at, the level of detail with the daily service was unlike anything I've seen before. Nothing is out of place ever. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated, with large walk-in closets (which really helps in smaller rooms like you'll find in Rome) and the bathrooms are spacious (and so clean!). Everything feels fresh and new. Unless you're willing to pay for Bulgari, I don't think there's a better choice in Rome.

Located within walking distance of everything you need and the staff is exceptional. If you have a chance to go to Rome, don’t miss staying at this hotel you will never be disappointed.

We had an exceptional stay at Hotel Vilòn. Everybody was so friendly and helpful - no effort was too much for them. We absolutely loved the hotel location and the decor. The food at breakfast and at the restaurant were amazing and so were the drinks at the bar. We will definitely be back.

Our stay was amazing. All staff were great and very helpfull. The concierge was also amazing, they helped me with suprise for my wife and they met our very need. We enjoyed Rome thanks is to all staff of hotel Vilon. Also the breakfast was great and restaurant food delicious. If we came again to Rome, we stay in Hotel Vilon.
