Love overall of the house.

There is a concern over the cleanliness of the house where we found there are many dust especially at the corners. Seem the cleaner only focus on the main walking area. Besides, the bedsheets for the twin beds are so old already which we are not comfortable about. Same go with the towels they provide. End up we are using the one-off towel we bring ourselves. Last but not least, the power supply is quite weak?? It the electric jump twice when we wan to boil the hot water using the kettle they provide. The Air-con heater are also weak when we could feel cold at night. The communication with the staff is so far so good. Quite responsive and helpful, but take note that all the information send to us are in Japanese (pls use goggle translate) and they might not be able to reponse after 6pm. Other than that, I am happy about wit the stay.

The location is good for us who driving car and plan for Aso Mountain and attractions nearby. There are many convenient stores nearby within walking distance also. There is a garden outside the house where you could BBQ also. The house is spacious enough for 7ppls. It also equipped with all the necessary facilities mentioned.

A lovely traditional home in the mountains with super comfy beds. It's not too rural as it's just around the corner from shops, if you need any supplies. Heating worked well in the home.

It was quite difficult to find the house even we arrived by 6 pm. Luckily, we got some local people to help us find the house and check-in. The check-in method is written in Japanese.

Would have been nice to have a couch or something more comfortable to sit on, but not a big deal.

Very clean, loved the washer/dryer, comfy beds. Convenient to restaurants, family mart was super close. Looked like the place would be great when warmer since they had a BBQ area. Would be great for larger family or group of friends.

The House was very clean and well kept. The size was suitable for a family of five. I love that there is a washing machine that you can actually use. The compact kitchen and dining area was perfect. The house Itself is located right next to a school so in the morning, there might be some noise but we have kids so we don't mind. Location was great for us as we rented a car so it is very convenient to get to stores and restaurants around there within minutes. We will definitely return if we visit Aso again.

For the foreigner, it’s quite difficult to find the exact location of the place so the direction in booking.com should be clearer (e.g 100 m from Family Mart) or provide more guideline. The online check in process is also quite challenging as we need to choose the exact name of this accommodation and they only provide drop-down list in Japanese without English translation. Although we asked staff from another hotel to help, it also took them a while to figure out the exact name and address for registration. The hot water did not work and we found out quite late. We dropped email to the owner as recommended in the guest book but no one answer. So we had to take shower in cold water which was quite unpresent.

The place is spacious, clean and comfortable. Location is good and close to Familymart

Everything was great!

The location was in a very quiet area and easy to reach via train/bus. There was also a convenience store nearby as well as a shopping street and Aso Shrine. The house was the perfect size for our group of 4 and the beds and futons were very comfortable. Everything was very clean and we were happy to make use of the kitchen and washing machine. The instructions were easy to follow and the entire process of arriving to the house was very smooth. They also had an outdoor fire pit which looked nice, but we didn't have the time to try it out ourselves. The surrounding garden was also nice and well maintained.

The owner threatens guests with regulations and warnings and loads of emails: e.g. „if passports copies are not sent online, I will give notice to the authorities.“ or: „if you do not wash dishes, extra fee will be charged.“ … this creates tension and a feeling of not really being trusted and welcome … one could speculate about the behavior of former guests and one could speculate about the owners character

Clean place, near Mt Aso. Worth the price

Very stressful getting there. No pin code for key till 5:30pm after numerous emails and phone not answering. Address wasn't able to be understood when we asked directions. House more for Japanese. Quite a few switches in Japanese. Accidentally turned off hot water and had cold shower for 1st morning. Not comfortable. No sofa, just wooden bench seat. We adapted and worked things out but hard work.

Bath was great. In winter the outdoor fireplace would be great. Great location to Takachiho Gorge and Beppu.

difficulty to find, house photo in booking.com didn’t help. only 1 sleeping room with 2 small double beds and air conditioner. No air conditioner in the other sleeping room as committed in the booking details.

No wood left for the barbeque. All messages to us were in Japanese despite asking on several occasions to please be in english I also was given the impression by reviews and pictures it was more remote which it was not
