Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicWe booked this accommodation during our ski trip in December, the ski bus station is situated nearby, the accommodation has a special deposit room for the equipment, and across the street, there is a ski rental shop. Everything is situated nearby. I recommend getting dinner in this place, portions are huge, various foods, and most importantly very tasty.

Fantastic location, discounted rental just across, ski lifts just 200m away, discounted ski passes, onsen just 2 mins walk. Casual eats (Tonkichi) and bar at doorstep! Fantastic service and hospitality by Sato-San and his staff. Complimentary transfers to bus stops and super quick response to queries! We were worried about family of 4 in the 13 sq metres room but we all fit and had space for our luggage. And some of us got to experience communal baths for the first time 😀

AustraliaThe room is little tight but maybe it’s standard Japanese size that we are just not used to 😅

UkraineI had a hard time sleeping on the futon for 6 nights but that is just because I am not used to it. The bedding was very comfortable, my back just hurt from being on the floor. This is a traditional hotel as are most in Nozawa so it is all part of the experience. The breakfast is Japanese style and wasn't to my taste but again, this was just personal preference. The food was fresh so it was no fault of the hotel.
This is a lovely little hotel. The staff, particularly the man who I think owns it and works at reception (sorry I cant remember his name), was so lovely! He offered to pick us up and drop us off at the bus stop and was just so kind. When my son wasn't feeling well he even brought us some rice up to our room. It just felt like a warm and welcoming environment. It was a great location, close to the chair lift and a 10 minute walk from the center of town. We had dinner one night and it was delicious sushi! I wasn't sure how I would feel with a shared shower/onsen but it was very clean and worked out just fine. While it is a shared shower you have your own toilet and sink which was a great (many hotels in Nozawa have shared toilets). It was a great experience overall.

AustraliaWe didn’t mind but others might find it onerous to walk up and downstairs to access the showers.
The owner gave us a lift to the bus stop when we checked out which was awesome as we had snowboards and luggage. The location was good as as nice and quiet and a short walk to restaurants.

We loved staying at Berg M!! Not only is the property quaint, the facilities well-appointed for its price-point, the innkeeper Saito-San and his family and team have created a home-away-from-home with their hospitality and attention to detail. The bath and shower facilities were lovely to have; the common area resting room- a lovely place to lounge and relax; and the breakfast so yummy and filling!! Dinners are optional and absolutely delicious and bountiful. Saito San went above and beyond to take care of us- picking us up from the bus station, dropping us off, helping us procure train tickets for our onward journey… The location though a little away from the center of action, was still close enough to walk into the center of town- merely 10 min by foot. To be honest, I quite liked the walk— winding through the village- from our peaceful corner to the busier, more vibrant center. The contrast was welcome and made me feel even more like our inn was a home, a separate peace. We couldn’t have asked for a better nest for our ski holiday. Highly recommend.

AustraliaThere's nothing we didn't like but this is a simple room and you get what you pay for. Don't expect a luxury hotel.
Berg is perfect for a ski trip - close to the slopes/ high protein (Japanese) breakfast, close to an onsen and restaurants. Everything is a 10min walk. Run by a lovely family.

AustraliaThat it was mainly a Japanese breakfast with a few continental breakfast add-ons. I would have preferred the option of either a Japanese breakfast or a properly catered continental breakfast.
That breakfast was provided every morning and that there was always enough to eat.

AustraliaFuton probably a little hard, but that’s being picky. Bedding was really nice.
Perfect location, short walk to bus stops and the lift. Most Restaurants etc probably 10 mins max. Accommodation was super clean, pretty modern and food provided was tasty. Photos on here don’t do it justice, this is a really good spot to stay. Easily the best compared to 2 others we stayed at in Nosawa. Staff were excellent and dropped us to the bus.

SingaporeGood location - short walk to Karasawa chair lifts (with ski access to main Nagasaki gondola). We bought discounted ski lift tickets from the inn and ski rentals across the road at Olive. Nakao public onsen is down the road and it’s only a 10 min walk to village centre. Rooms clean, lovely Japanese breakfast, helpful and friendly team. I would definitely stay here again.
