Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere is always a comment about the size of the rooms in Japanese hotels but after three weeks travelling I am accustomed to this now .
It is located in a shopping arcade Sakaidori in easy reach of new Shinshigai railway station tramway and amazing Kumamoto castle .Due to this easy access I was able to visit the castle and Botanic gardens in the same day .

Friendly staff during breakfast and check-in/ out procedure. Room size typical for Japanese business hotel. Location is great for nightlife and restaurants. It's also only an 8 minute walk to Kumamoto castle.

United States of AmericaLittle far from the train station. You need to take the tram to get here. If you have big luggage I would taxi here
Can't complain too much. It has everything you would want. Even a free breakfast. Good location to the Kumamoto castle and night life.

JapanIn this hotel the room key must be given to the staff at the counter every time you go out of the hotel, this is not negative per se. But very often, at the counter, other people are checking-in, and you need to wait in line up to 20-30 minutes just to handle or to take the key to/from the staff. I suggest the hotel manager, to solve this problem, either by giving a preferential line only for this key matter, or at least every checked-in person, ask if in the waiting line there are people waiting only for the giving or the taking of the key for their room
Room is very well designed, for work is very good. Very central and well connected. Lot's of restaurants, shops, etc.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is non-smoking, or at least my reservation was for a non-smoking room/floor, yet people were clearly smoking on the floor (in their rooms). When I notified the front desk, however, they did move me to a different floor and then everything was fine. :-) Breakfast was nothing to write home about, but since it was free, I can't really complain. :-) There really wasn't anything especially appealing about the hotel, so I probably wouldn't stay there again.
The location is very good. It's close to plenty of shopping and lots of restaurant options, and the Sakura Machi mall is practically across the street. The price was reasonable and the rooms were about the average size that you get in Japan. The room was clean, as is to be expected in Japan. :-)

PeruThe hotel is very standard, nothing special about it, and room feels a bit old. Parking costs ¥1,000+ per night, even with hotel validation. Breakfast was so-so. Elevator always stops on the 3rd floor (reception) as a security measure, but it was a bit annoying. No free water in the room. I would try another hotel next time.
The location is superb - right next to Kumamoto's main shotengai, which has many great restaurants. The price was also great, which included breakfast. Private bathroom. Strong WiFi.

JapanAs the hotel is in a very centric location it might be quite tricky to find an empty parking place. The hotel works with a parking building next to it but we needed to queue for quite a while waiting for someone to leave so there is space for us.
The location of the hotel is very good. It is at a walking distance from Kumamoto castle, there are many restaurants and karaoke places nearby as well as a shopping mall.

JapanWould have been nice to have a microwave we could use in the common space. A bit of noise at night because of the location (but that's expected).
I was very surprised by the breakfast, it was very good and balanced. Staff was also very nice, they open the breakfast buffet a bit before as I was waiting for it. Room was clean, everything needed. Very well located.

BelgiumI am travelling with a child. The hotel kindly provided us with an extra set of towels, but forgot to give us an extra pillow. It'd be great if they also provided black tea for breakfast. Still, it was a good experience.
Great location and speedy wifi. I was able to have an eConference without any trouble. The paid parking next building is conveniently close by. The balanced and healthy breakfast was for all guests to enjoy.
