Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe first dormitory bed I was allocated was virtually impossible to get into.
Overall, the hotel was good. However, there is an issue with some beds.

CanadaThese are all small nitpicks, but the lower pod-style dorm beds are extremely cramped. Try to get a top bunk if you can, there's much more height to them so you won't feel as claustrophobic. There is also no elevator, and the dorms are on the 3rd and 4th floor, so expect some physical effort when checking in and out. The lockers do not have a lock or even a way to lock them if you bring your own. And finally, the towels provided are rather small microfibre towels that they charge ¥200 to rent.
Excellent location, with easy access to all the bus and tram lines you'll need to visit the main attractions of the city. Common areas are very comfortable and spacious with multiple areas to relax or eat. Loved being able to get some air on the rooftop terrace too.

United States of AmericaI wish there had been another shower or bathroom, it was a little crowded with the amount of people in the dorms. I also felt bad about using a hair dryer in the morning, as the bathroom area is connected to the sleeping area.
The location was great, very close to Dejima and the arcade area. Tons of good options for local food and not too far away from public transportation. People were friendly, and the beds were clean.

JapanI didn’t like that the staff insisted on copying my residence card as a foreign resident of Japan. I’ve been told this isn’t allowed (as they don’t make copies of Japanese ids) but they insisted it was the law in Nagasaki specifically even though it isn’t in other areas of Japan.

BelgiumThe doors are quite noisy and are pretty thin, so if other guests are making noise in the common room or keep going in and out of the dorm, there can be quite some noise and light when you're trying to sleep.
The common room was super cosy, great place to meet people. The beds were comfortable and had a curtain and a locker big enough for a laptop. The kitchen and everything you needed to be able to cook a meal (except the ingredients of course, but including do herbs and sauces), breakfast was pretty good, though I did miss some protein with it. Location is great!

JapanI had a private room and I would have liked a bit more space to hang something. I couldn't have my jacket, towel and hanger with my clothes at the same time. A bedside table would have been nice, but honestly, less important. that's it, it was great so I don't have complaints.
The bed was one of the most comfortable ones I had slept it, including my bed at home. They have lots of common areas, including areas where you can study. The location is great. Right next to the shopping street. The traml to the station is a short walk away so bear it in mind if you have luggage, but you walk down the shopping street so there's no difficult terrain or anything.

United States of AmericaNeed to clean under the bed mattress. The provided cupboard is not lockable a small lock cabinet needs to be mended as it was very difficult to lock due to misalignment. Bunk bed ladder design could be easier to use. Dry only cycle on combo laundry machine acts odd. As it ran for hours without without stopping after.set time and didn't fully dry cloths.
Facilties Clean and new with well designed dorm rooms. Bunk beds have good privacy, do not creak, and provide a good amount of noise blocking. There is a nice common area and balcony. Free laundry machine. Can stow luggage before check in and after check out. Great location next to the main shopping street.

JapanI stayed at the annex for the first time. Don't forget to pack your ear plugs! The door is close to the sleeping place so if you try to sleep in you will get woken up by people exiting and entering.
I've stayed here very often, it's cheap and the location is excellent. The breakfast is simple but good.

GermanyI don’t know who designed the beds, but the entrance to the bed is so small and a weird shape so for tall or big people it’s literally really uncomfortable to get into and out of bed. Also know that the laundry machine takes almost 4 hours, but is free! :) the kitchen is not great equipped so I did not cook there.

United KingdomCan be a little noisy. The first night I could hear a child in one of the private rooms as the rooms are not divided properly, it is only a thin piece of wood that doesn't reach all the way to the ceiling.
Modern capsule rooms in a great location. I liked having a water dispenser in the room. The cafe also does nice food and drinks.

JapanThere is no door between the bedroom and the sink. You can hear the noise of water pouring out and the dryer even midnight. It depends on the roommate and I might have been just unlucky whereas you will have to forgive them somehow.
The shared spaces are excellent! They are very clean and big, and the floors are separated from the property, chatting and working. They are very comfortable and available for everyone.

IsraelThere isn't much that I didn't like about the place, maybe the price of the breakfast, but that's because I prefer cheap meals. If you're okay with a quality breakfast, take it, it should satisfy your needs.
The breakfast was great, always good to start your day of walking on foot with a healthy breakfast in your belly. The location was convenient, just a few minutes from public transportation. The port was close enough to get there by foot, like a 15-minute walk. The rooms were quiet enough so I could get sleep as much as I wanted.

JapanThe dormitory can get a bit hot. There's one bunk bed (the lower right one) where the airco doesn't reach. (It does have a small fan though.) Otherwise no issues at all with the sleeping area. One thing to note about the toilet on the first floor (the cafe one) is that the remote for the washlet (the bidet) doesn't work as is. You have to detach the control panel and point it to the toilet in order for it to work. I raised this with the staff the last time I was there and recommended them to make a clear sign explaining this but I saw they didn't take action on that feedback.
Reasonable price, super location, great breakfast, nicely clean, awesome staff. This was the fourth time I stayed here I think and I highly recommend it. I've stayed in plenty of other hotels in Nagasaki (H2, Dormy Inn, JR and a few others) and this is the best value hands down.
