That you had to pay to use the pool and gym. For that price it should be free. Buffet prices were too high.

Excellent hotel, staff are amazing and friendly. We left our passports at the other hotel in Tokyo, this wasn’t a problem for check in and they arranged with the other hotel to get them mailed over. They added little extras in as it was our honeymoon and gave us a little wedding gift at check out. The hotel room is gorgeous, bed is comfortable and the bathroom is gorgeous, fresh flowers, spa bath and amazing shower! So many extra toiletries that you don’t receive in other hotels and pjs, a dressing gown, sleepers, a coffee machine. It’s worth every penny. We had amazing view of the city.

There were no proposals from the hotel of what to see or do in Osaka, funny considering that Osaka castle is easily reachable by foot from the hotel itself.

The view from the room was fantastic. And the restaurants at the hotel are top quality.

Everything! We loved the location for the beautiful view and the calmness although it seems to be a bit away from the city centre but it didn’t bother us at all and the shuttle bus service was convenient enough. Staff were highly professional and very nice. Room is big and comfortable. This hotel definitely set the 5 star benchmark in Osaka. We will stay here again for sure.

Felt a bit forced to go into our rooms in the evening by the staff in the lobby area. The staff kept forcing my partner and I to go upstairs when we wanted to hang out in the lobby.

Surprisingly missing basic amenities like bath robes and body lotion in room. Air conditioning could be colder.

Old school charm and great attentive staff. 80s classic feel but not dated. Felt pampered and rested as hotel is in a quiet area away from main areas. There is free shuttle bus to Osaka station, otherwise it is expensive to go into areas like namba by taxi.

IT is unbeliveable that it is impossible to eat in the hotel after 21:00. Also iz is nož possible to jave drink after 22:00.

The air conditioning didn’t seem to work to well. The room temperature was 24 degrees at our arrival and as we’d like to sleep in a colder room, we set the air conditioning at 18 degrees, but this couldn’t bring the temperature lower than 21.5 degrees (which was the temperature in the morning after all night). Not a big deal though! The room and the view were compensating :)

The service was excellent! Lots of staff and everyone was very friendly and extremely service oriented. Furthermore as it was a one night stay during our honeymoon, it was a really nice gesture that we had an upgrade of our room with a river side view and a late check out. We had the European and Japanese buffet breakfast (which comes at additional cost) but this was definitely worth it. Great food with lots of variety and many healthy choices too.

My wife and I stayed here for the 6th leg of our Japan honeymoon. I had reserved this hotel during our honeymoon, as we were a little nervous about the hotel I that I had originally booked for our stay in Osaka. We were extremely happy with our stay here. Although this hotel was a little farther from the closest train station to our other stays, the free shuttle the hotels offers directly to Osaka Station is worth its weight in gold - as that train station is very central and a great place to explore Osaka from, and the shuttle takes only 15 mins to get there. We were averaging 30-40,000 steps a day in Japan, so getting to sit on a shuttle for 15 mins and rest our legs was really nice. There is also a Lawson and Lawson Store (which is a grocery-store version of the convenience-store) just a 5 minute walk from the Hotel which made for getting snacks at non-hotel prices really quite easy and convenient. The hotel also has a nice park just outside with with a small orchard of cherry blossom trees. There were still some sakuras blooming during our stay, which were beautiful! The staff at the Imperial Hotel Osaka were tied for the friendliest out of the 9 hotels we stayed at. We were made to feel like royalty since we walked in. The room here was nice and large, despite being a standard room and not on an imperial floor. The view from our hotel room was fantastic, and made for quite a romantic stay gazing over the Osaka skyline in the evenings after exploring Osaka. Checking out at this hotel was also a wonderful experience. The staff helped us forward our luggage to our next hotel, and arranged for a taxi to take us to the Shin-Osaka station for our scheduled Shinkansen departure. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Osaka.

Some might complain about the location not within walking distance to the Osaka station. However, they have a shutter bus. We also like love the river view and serenity of the area. Its nice to take a walk and spend a little time outdoors with our child.

It is a 15 minute walk away from the subway system , so not very close to the centre.

This is a luxury hotel. A real treat. Of particular note was the excellent coffee in the room, the sumptuous bathrobes and yukata, the delicious cakes in the hotel shop.
