The dorm was a little cramped with bags and no space for storage. Everything else was great

Great for a solo traveller. The staff were super friendly. The bunks were comfortable. The roof top patio with views of Mount Fuji was magical.

I didn’t like the mosquitoes. We booked the room with the outdoor onsen and got bit by a few that flew into the room when we opened the door.

Loved the gardens, waterfalls and ponds that surrounds the entire property. It was serene and beautiful. Loved that you can feed the 8000 carp swimming. Loved the wonderful friendly and helpful staff.

There could have been a more streamlined experience for english speakers. Slightly more information and instructions being provided in english would have been greatly appreciated.

Staff were exceptionally friendly. While most could only speak a little english, they carry around translators to help. The grounds were breathtaking and fun to walk and explore. Onsen was so relaxing. Dinner and breakfast was also a great experience with a large variety of traditional japanese foods. It was fun to taste things outside of the mainstream japanese tourist fare.

Places in our room needed updating - there were areas where fixtures had obviously been removed but not replaced. Not nice to look at but did not affect the quality of our stay overall.

Beautiful gardens and koi pond inside and outside. Onsen was small on the women's side but lovely. Men's had a much larger area apparently.

Beautiful ryokan with a big amazing garden with rocks, plants, trees, streams and carps (really remarkable). Beautiful room, very spacious and clean. We had the room with the private onsen, very nice, and view on the garden. Delicious breakfast and dinner, thoughtfully presented and curated to the smallest details. Very nice public onsen with indoor and outdoor pools. Great staff, very helpful and kind. It was an extremely pleasant stay, I wish we had spent more nights there. I would absolutely recommend it!

The only thing I would say is we did feel a little bit unwelcome some of the time. The staff were lovely but it did seem like we were being a bit of a hassle. Maybe because we could not speak Japanese? I'm not sure. Still a fantastic place to stay, absolutely stunning

check out at 1000am is a bit too early and not common....1100am is more reasonable our room was close to the water with the fish, which was great, but there were some small insects flying around, and the windows don't have a net.......it could be useful to use a net then you can still enjoy open doors without the hassle of waking up from flying insects or mosquitoes

Excellent meals, both breakfast and dinner. Staff provided very good service and attention to our needs. Provided a very relaxing break from hustle & bustle of big cities. Shuttle service to and from station was nice added service. Really enjoyed the in-room furo. Very spacious accomodations.

The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The attached onsen was relaxing. Having an outdoor shower surrounded by the fantastic garden was wonderful. The employees were friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful and delicious. The garden is one of the best I’ve seen outside some of the bigger temple grounds.

The breakfast wasn't as good as the dinner and 2nd day was served in a communal room instead of a private room probably due to manpower shortage.

The room size and layout was very well planned and the private onsen was spacious and nice. The kiseki dinner was beautifully curated. Location was nice and close enough to the station. The ryokan also provide free shuttle service.

The hot spring bath in our room was very nice; the only downside was the lack of privacy. There was only a partial pattern on the glass between the sitting area and the bath.

Dinner was served in our room and was an exceptional meal. Breakfast was also very good and was served in a larger common area with plenty of space. The garden was amazing! Lots of walking paths to wander around. We loved how the rooms faced the garden and we had a waterfall right outside our room.
