Most of the staff does not speak much English and we had to wait/find same person to ask things. We booked for 4 nights, but missed our first night stay due to late flight connection from Osaka. We communicated this online and informed them in advance. During check in - we wanted to see the buffet breakfast before going to rooms but we were told (at 7 am) we can not have it and need to book and pay for the next mornings. It would be nice of them to offer at least 1 breakfast since we already paid over 300$ per night and did not even stay in the room and did not even get more than once cleaning but they made us book breakfast and pay for the following morning and we could not have breakfast on the first day when we need it. Not even a welcome drink was offered. Online and phone conversations were great but not sure about face to face reception process we received. For example; we requested 2 bottles of water and was asked why 1 is not enough?, we are 2 people in the room. We both work in International hotels and events overseas, were really hyped about Japanese hospitality and were really surprised by the level of customer service we received considering the price and the look of this hotel and this was also our first Japanese location after flight so it was a bit of shock.

Location was gold! It is located right next to Kyoto main train station and bus station which was great for our day trips. Building is beautiful with a nice lobby area, shops and art gallery underneath. There are some nice cafes in walking distance and many shops/restaurants in the station building. Room was clean but was cleaned only once in 4 days and they asked us which morning to pick so it was not daily. Online communication was great with the hotel, we got all our questions answered! Small requests to the room over the phone were handled such as room was too dark, so we requested extra lights while packing, was arranged quickly. Staff also helped us sent our luggages to Tokyo hotel, process was easy and was around 25 Au$ per medium 65cm luggage!

Weird checkin process insisting to use machine instead of checkin desk. Then a staff was needed to use the machine for checking in anyway... but he wasn't good at using the machine... so it also needed help from checkin desk staff anyway - total of 2 staff and a slow machine rather than just 1 checkin desk! So overall chaotic and slower than just normal process. There also wasn't anyone to help us with our luggage to the room, we had 2 suitcases, a stroller and a 2 year year old. We could see baggage trolleys and there were a few hotel staff standing by but nobody offered to help. Besides these small hiccups at checkin, the hotel was extremely comfortable, had great breakfast, comfy bed, decent sized rooms and an unbeatable location right next to the station. The price was good value all things considered, I would still stay here again.

We were suggested an upgrade to a premier room on an upper floor and we took it an an extra cost. Glad we did. The room was huge and comfortable and as we were there for 3 nights it was good to have the space.Excellent service from the staff with some English spoken. The breakfast buffet is very good, everything you could want. The motel is directly next to the Kyoto train station. We used taxis however to see the sights and found them quite affordable and convenient for us.

The bathroom is a little small; the room we stayed in was dusty even though we had daily housekeeping come in to clean.

The location of the hotel is perfect - very close to Kyoto central station. Breakfast was excellent - a lot of choices; delicious food; very attentive & polite staff.

Toilet room had an unpleasant smell, which luckily did not enter the main part of room. The pre check in QR code process seemed pointless as check in took the same, if not longer than manuel check in at other hotels. Member of staff standing with me the whole time using the check in kiosk so not sure of the point of self service machine with staff member telling you what to do??

Amazing location right next to Kyoto station with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Gorgeous lobby and rooms. I particularly liked the onsen style set up of the bathroom with mini stool and basin and the amazing smelling toiletries. Breakfast had a great selection, although no Earl grey teabags or hash browns, which we had available at our other 4 star hotels in Japan.

It is not close to any of the important and interesting sites in Kyoto - but it is so practical because it is right by the train and bus station.

Very nice hotel! The room was a bit small but very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as there were many options and it was tasty. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The location is outstanding as it is right by the Kyoto train station.

This hotel is right next to Kyoto Station! It was perfect after traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto to step off the train and go right to our hotel. The hotel was comfortable and the staff was amazing! They helped us ship our luggage to our Tokyo hotel on our way back. That was such a a huge help!

Check-in is self-service but hotel staff is availiable to support. Would be much faster and easier if staff would do it on the terminal. In a hotel like this, I think it is a bit strange to ask if the room should be cleaned. To be ecological I would prefere a message e.g. towels on the floor - will be change, non the hook, will be reused - so something similar.
