Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaAs a vegetarian I'm always struggling with Japanese cuisine. I was hoping that the international restaurant at the hotel would have more vegetarian dishes but in the end the options were quite limited and you could tell that making vegetarian dishes is not their speciality.
The hotel is just breathtaking beautiful with its big inner yards and private beach. There are many restaurants and konbinis around. Also the hotel offers lots of activities but they come at an extra price. Aside from that the stuff was amazingly friendly and I loved how much you could discover within the hotel.

AustriaThe only thing that was not that great was the wifi from the room. The connection was better from the foyer area.
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel and the surrounding area is quite comfortable with shops, restaurants and other dining places. The room was very comfy and big, the staff were super friendly and welcoming.

United States of AmericaThe only thing I didn’t like about my stay, was the comfort of the beds. I also realize that you faced with smaller and firmer beds in Japan versus the US but essentially that was my only gripe.
The location was absolutely stunning. The beautiful overgrown Pothos and Monstera plants were just breathtaking.

JapanThe place is old and not renovated - rusty handrails, rusty frames on balconies, chipped off paint. Also the room itself had a distinct moss smell with hints of old people.
The hotek is stylish and beautiful, staff was very kind and helpful. Also a private beach with white sand.

United KingdomWell, the gym for a start: it is very old, super rusty and dirty. They charge you for it and the working hours are quite inconvenient, even when there is no staff needed to run it. Then the beach, which is good but they charge you for renting chairs and umbrella and it's quite expensive. Last but not least the tattoo police which I would expect them to send it over BEFORE my arrival and not when I was already there. This hotel is a very expensive one and honestly, value for money didn't reach my expectations
The room was very nice, spacious and comfortable. The food (breakfast and lunch) counts with a lot of options with very fresh food

JapanThe bed was extremely uncomfortable The fact that even if you pay to stay at the hotel you have to pay extra for a beach towel or a beach chair/umbrella. They also won’t let you snorkel if you bring your own mask. Probably because they want you to pay extra for that too. Part of the hotel are under construction and they will be working while you are there. I think next time I would just pay for a day pass and stay somewhere else cheaper since the rooms need to be updated and you have to pay to use the facilities anyway.

AustraliaWe wanted to use the spa/sauna but have tattoos so we’re unable to use even if covered up. During the day there was often a very strong smell of sewerage, it smelled strong at the hotel but also in the street generally so I’m not sure if it is just due to the age of the town infrastructure, but it was worse on the hotter days we were there. Beds were a little hard and pillows were feather so flattened out to a pancake and very uncomfortable. Overall the resort is a little tired but with the new renovations it should be nicer
The location and views was great… lots of local food options (but beware that most are closed for lunch and need to be booked for dinner). Food options at the hotel are good but a little expensive. Breakfast buffet was excellent and has good western food options. Rooms were comfortable and clean (excellent bathrooms) but a bit musky in smell due to age of the building. Beach and pool were amazing. Overall the resort was wonderful for our family, reasonable value for money and comfortable enough for the 3 night stay.

JapanThe hotel is definitely dated, but there are attempts to modernize it. Water pressure in the shower was very weak and the toilet felt like we could break it by sitting on it.
The hotel has a beautiful beach and a wide range of activities for people to enjoy. Staff was friendly and worked hard to make sure we felt accommodated

Hotel has a good variety of water sport activities! Food in the hotel was also great! Transfer bus from the airport comes directly to the hotel. Overall very relaxing vacation after visiting Tokyo.

Czech RepublicThe Moon Beach hotel was built in 1975 and even though it was probably partially renovated since then you still feel like in the 20th century. It might be fine for some, but if you have a comparison with all-inclusive new resorts in SAE, Caribbean, Mediterranean or even the Red Sea, you might be disappointed. Paid parasols and shaky aluminum beach chairs, limited access to the sea, no real attractions for children, rusty facilities.
If you are looking for the spirit of (often) typhoon affected beaches and how it used to be in the 70's this hotel has a soul and good meals options. Just like anywhere in Japan everyone is very polite, friendly, smiling but some just don't speak English.

United States of AmericaThe resort is an hour from the airport and many of the other tourist destinations that we were interested in, so while we had ready access to a beautiful beach, it took a lot of time and money to use taxis to get to other sites. The hotel was under renovation in some areas so it was not as peaceful as I had hoped.
The setting on the beach was beautiful, our rooms were spacious and had great amenities. The restaurant had an amazing variety of food, and the staff were super helpful. There were nearby restaurants and shops within walking distance, and taxis were also readily available for longer trips.

JapanThe breakfast buffet which we paid extra for could've been much better. There were not many options and each day it was the same thing, which is disappointing. Also, I don't see why guests have to pay extra to reserve deck chairs and umbrellas at the resort beach? We paid around 3000yen per day for 2 chairs and an umbrella at a resort which we already paid so much money to book..
The resort is beachfront, and the ocean can be seen from many spots (poolside, the breakfast lounge, etc.). The resort itself is gorgeous, with many photo opportunities (such as the hanging green vines in the courtyard). The staff were lovely and welcoming. Many restaurants and conbinis around the area also.

MalaysiaStaff's understanding of the English language is minimal, only a handful could communicate in basic English. Hotel reception was very strict & rigid when I asked if they could accommodate a 12pm check out instead of 11am as it was between my toddler's naptime but I was informed that they'll have to charge for that extra hour - most hotels I've experienced have accommodated that request (providing they're not fully booked during that day). They have 2 pools - one indoor and one outdoor. I find the pool opening times a bit late, the indoor pool opens at 10am and the outdoor pool opens at 9am. After breakfast, we were hanging around waiting for the pool to open. I also didn't appreciate the part that we have to rent the pool towels - never have I been to a hotel pool where pool towels are not provided. I found their breakfast cutoff time to be ridiculous, last call is 9am, cut off is 930am. When we go for a holiday, there is a tendency to chill and not rush but with the cut off time for the breakfast, it was really just too rushed.
Loved the beautiful white sandy beach and its clear blue waters, which is private to the hotel. Room was spacious and clean, Hospitality service is your average Japanese standard. Nice to have a wash sink and small pantry counter for convenience, comfortable seating area in the room and a balcony table & chair where you can enjoy the breeze. Availability of a bathtub was helpful after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel's environment gives a 'back to nature' vibe as it has plenty of flowers and greenery decor. Location is good as there are a couple of marts within walking distance and right on the main street, there are plenty of casual and fancy restaurants as well. The breakfast and lunch buffet has a good variety of choices as well should you decide to eat in.
