Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeNot at all.
Stayed for 2 nights. It’s just next to the canal but our room happened to face the side street so no canal view. It’s quite direct to walk from the station. It’s also convenient for food and shopping too.

SingaporeBeing a couple in our 60’s, the one thing we would have preferred was to not have to climb in and out of the bath tub for our showers. Safety reasons.

MalaysiaThe location of the hotel is just opposite the canal and canal cruise. 10 minutes walk to tourist street and the pier. Room was big as it is a junior suite and fit in just nice 2 adults and 2 kids. There is a chargeable car park and convenient. No need to look for public car park.

Very well located next to the Canal & short walking distance to JR Station. Love the 25sqm spacious room for 2pax, rare find for hotels in Japan at good price. Toilet, shower cubicles & even a small powder room, all kept separate so very convenient.

ThailandThe toilet valve malfunction and cannot be fixed even we informed the receptionist. So, we just use it as it is that temperature to high for us.
Ease of access. Close to the interesting and attractive places. We can walk around or just take the local bus to access attractions.

United KingdomRenovation work started on our floor the day we arrived and was extremely loud from before 9 am until 6pm almost. It gave me a severe migraine and so I spent half of a day trying to recover before giving up. Nothing was offered to us to make up for the nuisance at all. We were not warned in advance of this so I didn't have earplugs ready.
The hotel had great style. It was also in a great location, right on the canal. We could see the canal and the sea from our room. The hotel staff were all amazingly friendly and helpful, supplied us with amenities such as face creams and razors etc. they were very happy to store our luggage after we checked out. Check in and check out was a very smooth process and the hotel is easy to navigate. We did not use the bar, but I have heard from locals that it is good and has good cocktails.

SingaporeTo be honest, perhaps it’s because we were unaccustomed to the pillows provided in the room, we didn’t sleep very well. Although we asked for extra pillows to elevate the height of the pillows, they didn’t help very much. This was the only minus point about the room.
It’s a lovely hotel, located near the Otaru Canal. The main areas for sightseeing and food were accessible and convenient.

MalaysiaBut in terms of amenities such as not provide bath boom for free is such a shame in this price range. Breakfast should be included as well with the price range too.
It was great in terms of location as Otaru Canal is right in-front of you. But you got to work around 15 minutes to the Music Box streets which is still acceptable. Car park there is really good as it’s park under hotel property. They do provide us helpful information of how to take ski bus to Kiroro Peak Club Med too.

AustraliaUnfortunately, the smoking room is close to the foyer, so the whole foyer area and some parts of the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. I found this extremely unpleasant and would highly recommend banning smoking!
It's a lovely old hotel in a great location. We walked with our suitcases from the train station which was downhill, a little tricky in the snow, but manageable, about 15-20 minute walk. We chose to book a taxi back to the station because it was uphill - about $8 AUD, so worth it! The room was large, but everything is a bit tired. Great view out over the canal, and also great view at breakfast. Will loved Otaru, but very touristy!

SingaporeSmoking room in the lobby area, so I kept smelling smoke when I was in the lobby. Also lack of good espresso coffee in the morning in the nearby area so we had to do without.
