Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanOnly the location to eat dinner near the hotel late at night.(late check-in)
Breakfast is good. But location is a bit far from the station. Shuttle bus is convenient to/from the station, so it's not a problem except finding the dinner place near the hotel.

SingaporeLaundry machine in the Ladies Onsen had broken down so my wife and daughter trekked out to do the laundry - definitely it would be a big improvement to just have a Laundry Room for all with several machines.
This Hotel was great value for money - Breakfast was included and it was better than expected for essentially a stop - over , business Hotel . Rooms were a bit small but beds were great and pillows OK . As expected , staff didn't speak much English but we got through, they were helpful in getting taxis etc . The weather was awful , cold and rainy but we enjoyed visiting Hikone Castle and Nagahama town - stayed 3 nights . Restaurant in the Hotel served quite good food at very reasonable prices in the evening. Loved the Vending Machines in the Hotel .

United States of AmericaExtremely slow WiFI and not reliable. Location is pretty far from Hikone Castle. If wanting to explore Hikone, there are better hotel locations. If you have a car, this is quite a good location.
99% of the staff does not speak English but all are very friendly and try to help. The public bath was nice. Free breakfast was awesome. You can rent bikes to explore Hikone (there are only 2 though, and sometimes get used). Parking is free. The ramen restaurant near the hotel was excellent and there are 24 hour fast food options close by, and a 7/11. The room was pretty comfortable. Price was nice. They have a shuttle as well.

United KingdomThe hotel’s location was a slight disadvantage being some distance from the town centre. To be fair the hotel provided a free shuttle bus service to and from the station. The hotel was not helped by the failure of the town to make their public transport more accessible for western visitors with routes and ‘next stops’ flagged up in English as in nearby Kyoto. Also the get on get off tour buses only run at weekends. Also not all the reception staff were confident with English. However I would stress that they were very keen to help.
The hotel was clean, comfortable with a friendly staff. Rooms were compact and well maintained. There was a generous breakfast but with few concessions to Western dishes. Again the dinner choices were Japanese - but well-served and tasty

JapanThe hotel is on a busy road and the entrance is not clearly marked. I mistakenly turned too soon into the car park of the company next to the hotel and as they are fenced off, had to get back onto the road to turn into the hotel's car park.
I stayed here en route on a driving trip and was very glad to check-in easily and find the room was clean and quiet. The hotel has an onsen but I didn't visit it so cannot comment, but the buffet breakfast was good with a variety of Western, Japanese, meat, fish and vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and helpful.

JapanI opened the window and small bugs came in. Maybe that is why electric air cleaners are provided. The communal bath looked small.
Free parking, near a mall (food court), communal baths (I didn`t know that until I had already used the one in the room), great breakfast, amazing value, there is a kettle, tea, coffee service in the lobby, quiet although the hotel was clearly full as it was a national holiday

JapanThe location if you don't have a car is a little awkward. The bathroom steams up really easily so drying off needs to be done outside the bathroom.
Easy check in and check out. Good for an overnight stay or if you are only there during the evening and night. Rooms are spacious when compared to an APA in Tokyo. The breakfast is simple but has a lot of variety.

JapanThe shower in the room was uncomfortable and the location was not as great as I expected - the closest station is not served by JR and the train runs infrequently.
The staff are hard to fault, they were polite, friendly and helpful. The general aesthetic of the room (and hotel) were great. The breakfast was execellent both in terms of flavour and variety and things were well organized.
