Isa and Yumiko were lovely! The bed was very comfortable, everything was clean and it is in a great location close to Asakusa and Kuramae train station. There’s lots of good food and cafes around as well.

I loved my stay at Hikari Guest House! Isa and his family are incredible hosts and you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. The facilities are clean and nicely decorated and I found the other guests to be very kind and open minded!

Had an amazing experience at the guesthouse, and Isa-san was an amazing host. The dorm beds have sturdy wooden frames, which makes them way more comfortable. The atmosphere of the guesthouse was also very calm and friendly, and I got to meet some amazing people during my short stay. Will definitely book again next time I come to Tokyo!

The perfect place for solo travelers who’s homesick. The guesthouse is run by a welcoming English speaking family and is located right next to the train station which is very convenient. It’s clean, comfortable and warm. Couldn’t ask for a better place to spend the first days in Tokyo!

The bedrooms and bathrooms were really clean and modern. The facilities were easy to use and the host really looked after the space and everyone in it. I loved the local area and the food recommendations. I met some nice other travellers here but also got good privacy in the bunk. Much need sense of home here! Thank you so much.

Many spaces (doors, stairs, facilities) are quite small.

The guesthouse is super close to a well-connected train line to both airports. Everything is very clean, it has lots of wood and a cozy common area. Isa, the owner is around every day, he’s helpful and friendly. In the kitchen you can cook, and have free snacks, coffee, tea. There’s also a fridge, microwave, toaster and laundry.

AMAZING STAY !!!! Could not recommend Isa and Yumikos guesthouse enough ! Everything was perfect. Friendly and super caring hosts with impeccable attention to detail. Great location super close to train station and shops. Met lovely travellers also staying during my time. Absolutely would come back next time in Tokyo !

We had a very positive experience staying here. The guesthouse was extremely clean and the owner was kind, polite, and happy to answer questions. Our room was comfortable and the guesthouse itself is located near restaurants, convenience stores, and public transportation. If you are looking for a cozy, well-run place to to stay in Tokyo at a reasonable price, me and my group would definitely recommend Tokyo Hikari Guesthouse.

Great location - subway is right next to it, and it's easy to get to from Narita or Haneda (just note you're a bit farther away from a JR station). The person who runs the hostel, Isa, was very friendly, helpful, and had great recommendations for the area.

Such a cozy place to stay!! Isa was so nice and helpful showing me all the places around the guesthouse to visit in addition to providing a map! Loved that facilities were open 24hrs which made my stay stress free! Beds were really comfortable and curtains provided a high level of privacy!

Nothing - a wonderful stay.

This hostel was definitely a cut above the rest! A real personal touch from the owner who was available and willing to help with anything. He even gave me a free reikhi session! 😊. The beds were fabulous, with wonderful mattress and the sheets so.soft I thought I was in a 5 star hotel! What a treat - my best night's sleep in the whole of Japan! 😊. Excellent location and lovely neighbourhood to explore on foot.by the river.
