Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

United KingdomThe property is perfect in many ways you can forgive the nightly music from next door. We had no problem sleeping with some good ear plugs.
The location is superb right on the edge of the old town looking out to sea. The staff as always were all brilliant. The morning breakfast is the best.

The room was big, and well decorated, the location was the best close by the port, the downtown and a decent walking distance from the beach

United KingdomThe riad entrance is down some dark covered alleys which must be a bit nerve-wracking to some, and it would have been handy to have had a sign for the riad at the entrance to those alleys. Also, as a few other reviewers have pointed out, there's a club just next door with loud music all night - since I was on the ground floor it was somewhat muffled though, so earplugs were enough for me. I was in the cheapest room (a small double on the ground floor), so I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was still disappointed by some aspects. First, it just seemed they had recently converted it from a sitting room into a bedroom - unlike the bedrooms on the floors above there were no shutters on the windows (which were floor length), just flimsy curtains, and the windows looked out onto the main reception area/courtyard, which was illuminated all night, so that even with curtains closed it could be quite bright and I wasn't sure if I was visible with the curtains closed. And second, the room was described as having a private bathroom, which is true, but nowhere was it said that the bathroom was separate from the bedroom - it's right next to the riad front door, so you have to leave the bedroom and walk across the courtyard to it, which wasn't ideal. Plus, the shower drain was clogged throughout my stay.
The breakfast was fantastic and served promptly (hot msemen - a pancake, a pastry, bread, fruit salad, orange juice, choice of tea or coffee, and jams/butter/honey/cream cheese), the location was ideal - in the medina right next to the port and main square, and the bedroom was clean and cosy. The staff were very helpful and the riad itself was tastefully decorated. I especially enjoyed the 2 level roof terrace, the highest of which had a great view of the sea, and which surprisingly not many people used when I stayed there, so I often had it to myself during the day and in the evening.

IrelandLittle bit hard to find (to get to the entrance you need to pass through a tunnel that never smelled nicely).
Pleasant Dar in the city centre of Essaouira. Lovely rooms in morroccan style with cozy bathroom. My family and me enjoyed rich breakfast and pleasantness of manager and staff. We wanted to do some extra outdoor activities - manager arranged everything for us quickly and efficiently.

GermanyThe staff is really nice. Everything is clean and the view from the roof top terrace is stunning. The Riad is located in the center of the which makes it comfortable to quickly come home during day trips in the city. The breakfast was delicious and also had good portions. We will definitely come here again!

United KingdomA lot of reviews here mention that there is a bar exceptionally close which is quite noisy. It’s the baseline which may annoy. We were offered ear plugs, but we didn’t take them, didn’t need them. Slept like a baby.
Not too tricky to find, very central for everything. Wonderful double layered roof terrace (with 🐫🤔). Bed was comfy, room was small but really lovely. Shower was more than adequate (and I’m fussy). Lovely welcome, great manager and the ladies delightful. The breakfast was the best we had experienced in the two weeks we have been on the road. Would definitely return if we are ever in the area. Also, thank you so much for letting us use the roof terrace whilst we were waiting for our afternoon bus.

GermanyAs has been commented by others, there is loud music coming from the bar next door. I will try to summarize the situation as objectively as possible: - We stayed for more than a week. - There is music every night. Sometimes until 12, sometimes until 1am, sometimes until 2am. It starts rather quite at about 8, followed by live music at around 9 and 10, which is very loud (stops at around 11), followed by some louder electronic music. - The live music is really loud, I am talking "sleeping in a tent close to a stage at a music festival"-loud. The live music is either Moroccan or European. - The riad provides you with ear plugs. You hear the live music through the ear plugs. But after 11pm, when the live music stops, we were able to sleep without a problem. While it is sad that such that the beautiful and peaceful vibe if the riad is suffering from the touristy bar's loud music, you can still have a very great, crazy value-for-money stay at this place. We really enjoyed it. One last thing: would be good to ensure that internet works in all rooms and also on the rooftop. Sometimes connection was a bit weak, although they have high speed 5G.
The riad is beautiful, spacious, a lot of light also on the bottom floor, cozy fireplace, great terrace from which you can watch the sunset. Delicious breakfast with fresh orange juice. We were in room Agadir, which was super nice, probably the best we had so far in morocco. We stayed for 8 nights. Great value for money (although they reduced prices due to the music recently). Staff is extra nice and welcoming. They clearly feel sorry for music from the bar next door, which they cannot do anything against.

NorwayWe loved everything!
We really loved this place! The entrance seem a bit scary at first, in the tunnels under the buildings, but we never had any issues. When entering, this amazin place appears. It seems more like a riad than a dar, with the big garden in the middle, opening up towards the sky. There is a cozy room at the ground floor, where a fire was lit (guess they serve breakfast on rainy days). There is also a nice roof terrace on the top floors, where you can relax, have breakfast, enjoy the beautiful views over the ocean and the city. We had a suite with a bedroom and two sofa beds, spanning over two floors. We also had a private terrace with sun beds and chairs, it was amazing. We also had a double room which was nice, but it was quite dark due to it being on the 2nd floor. When we decided to stay one extra night we had to leave our suite, and got a new double room on the 3rd floor, it was a lot brighter. Breakfast was great, with tea, coffee, fresh juice, baguette, pain au chocolat, pancake, fruit salad... Served on the terrace. Location is excellent, in the medina, close to the main square and only a few minutes walk to a big parking and the beach.

United KingdomVery noisy at nighttime (not the hotels fault!) but it sits behind a busy bar which plays loud music until late. We didn’t mind this too much but when sleeping in the medina do keep in mind that you will most likely hear the call to prayer very early in the morning. This woke us up at 5:50am (ish) every morning. We managed to fall back asleep but I would recommend staying outside of the medina or further away from the centre if you don’t want interrupted sleep. Note: The hotel provided ear plugs.
Great central location, very pretty riad, excellent value for money and kind and friendly staff!
