Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceThe riad is beautiful, our room was very pretty, decorated with taste and typical furniture. The terrace is also nice, we enjoyed the sun up there. The only thing we were a bit disappointed with was the food: the dinner is too pricey for what it is, and the breakfast could definitely be better for what you pay to stay at this riad.

United States of AmericaAt an extra cost we arranged a transfer to the train station for our departure. The driver did not show at the specified time and there was no one at the reception at the hotel. We were lucky to make our train. The menu for dinner was limited and unchanged for the two nights we were there.
The room was huge with a double shower. he furnishings were also very nice. The room looked out onto the central court, as in many Riads. The manager arranged for a guided tour of Fes, which was very good. Breakfast was very good, as was the restaurant for dinner. This is important since Fes at night can be a bit shady.

Beautiful historic romantic. Dinner not too traditional; experimental twists. Really nice breakfast. Staff fantastic. Clean. Rather quiet.

NetherlandsThere was no possibility to make tea/coffee (or any other drink) in the evenings. Also no fridge in the room, or any possibility to get a drink anywhere else in the hotel. There is no café or shop nearby to buy drinks. This may be because it was low season (we were the only guests most of our stay)
Beautifully decorated room, lovely terrasse, clean, quiet, lovely restaurant

United States of AmericaWe had an incredible stay at Dar Roumana. Our room and the terrace were so nice that we had to work to make ourselves go out and explore Fez rather than simply luxuriating at the Dar. The staff also made us feel incredibly welcome, whether that was by bringing us lettuce along with our breakfast so that we could feed the tortoise or lighting a fire in the lounge when we were there working.

SpainAt our age ( over 70) the flights of stairs to reach the rooms were punishing. But there is no solution to this problem as the Riad is designed around the central courtyard with steep stairs to all upper areas.
The restaurant served delicious evening meals. The breakfast was very good. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The Riad is beautifully restored in traditional Moroccan style. The bed was first class.

FinlandRiad was very beautiful and my room too, lots of room there. And a view from the roofbalcony was exceptional. Reception was polite and formal. Breakfast was so good and served with lovely lady. Lots of deep steps there to room, to balcony even inside your room you need to take steps to go to bathroom. So cannot recommended to people with knee problems.

United States of AmericaThe property was just BEAUTIFUL! The staff was exceptional with a lot of “old world charm”! Have dinner there at least 1 night! It was delicious. The only downside is that our room was up a steep, winding staircase. If the stairs don’t bother you, stay here!

The staff were awesome - special shout out to Mohammad and Rachid who went the extra step to ensure we had a great stay. The court yard was absolutely beautiful, our room was equally as beautiful and the roof top terrace was our favourite!

IrelandEmpty lot behind the Dar where dogs barked during the night. We were double booked and it took a little effort to confirm the same quality accommodation near by, but it worked out.
Beautiful decor, great restaurant on site and roof top vista. If you like restoration projects Dar Roumana comes with its own story book in the lobby.

United KingdomThis is an exceptional property in Fes. It’s in a great location and has been beautifully renovated – with lots of love, care and attention to detail. All of the staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming and very professional. The quality and choice of food created in the Riad is of a very high standard and probably the best we experienced during our 2-week road trip around Morocco. We whole heartedly recommend this Riad - it ticks all the boxes!

GermanyWe loved this place so much with his traditional furnishing and very friendly service. The hotel is well located and you can reach everything in the 'medina' (old city) by food. Our room was extraordinary with his bathroom in the second floor. Also the roof terrace is so delightful, you have a perfect view about the old part of the city.

SpainIt would be good to have more food options beside the set menu, as maybe you’re not hungry but you have to order the whole 2 dishes menu but nothing bad. Food was great.
It was a 10/10 place. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our Tamarind room had plenty of space, an amazing bathroom with double shower and perfect views to the Riad. The architecture and decoration is just stunning. Totally recommend Dar Roumana. Delicious breakfast served at the rooftop which gives you a great panoramic view of the Medina and the Meneries tombs. Special mention to Nesha at reception who also does Henna tattoos.

United KingdomOur room (Argana?) was situated on the external wall and overlooked some waste ground. Not sure anything can be done about it but it was very noisy. Noisy from diners in the internal courtyard until about 11 then a procession of dogs barking, donkeys neighing, cockerels. Earplugs advised.
Dar Roumana is situated in a beautiful old Riad. The interior is stunning and our room was equally beautiful and well thought through. Great attention to detail with high % cotton sheets and comfy bed. Service for breakfast on the terrace was impeccable. We also had dinner here on our first night which was amazing. We later discovered that it is considered one of the best places to eat in Fes.

United States of AmericaIt’s on the outskirts of the Medina so it was a little difficult to find my way back from the Medina.
The rooms are authentic, stunning and comfortable. Its a great place to escape the busy Medina. Then staff is so kind and friendly and helped me book a guide among other things I needed. For me as a solo female traveler it can be hard being alone but the staff made me feel so welcomed and made it feel like home here. I loved it so much I booked two extra nights.

United KingdomThis is an excellent location on the edge of the Medina, away from the crowds and not too far from the city gates and car park. The staff were excellent; the breakfasts, taken in the main courtyard, were relaxed and enjoyable. The whole riad, particularly the tiles, woodwork and stucco has been beautifully and sensitively restored to its former glory. The roof terrace affords wonderful views across the medina. The room we stayed in was spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable.

United KingdomNothing could have been better but it is just a little off the beaten track so can take a litte finding even when you think you know where you are going
Fabulous. In a late 19th/early 20th century courtyard house with amazing tiling and stucco work. Excellent breakfast was served in the courtyard (with tortoise). Very good restaurant (licensed), deservedly popular with non-residents (we ate there twice). Lovely room, though steep stairs to the beautiful shower room. Wonderful roof terrace with superb views over Fez where the very helpful staff will serve you complementary tea and a billable drink.
