Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomPicture Jack Dawson's Madame Bijoux in the Titanic. At one time this was premier hotel, with genuine French style. Sadly, that was some time ago. Don't get me wrong the hotel has a stye and some luxury features, but is no longer 5*. The casino appeals to day visitors and is basic. The hotel food and drink selection were disappointing, its better to go out.
Excellent location, close the the real Macau. Easy to get to and experienced professional staff who go out of their way to help. Interesting 'rock' memorabile in the M bar.

Concierge Fred was very helpful when we left our bag (and passports) on the shuttle bus. He confirmed the bag was in the bus and waited with us.

AustraliaEnglish speaking Chef ( or even a minimal grasp) would have been helpful. We had three breakfast there and the same was experienced each time.
Superb, polite staff and excellent choice of foods. However, it would have been helpful if the chef spoke English. He was extremely dismissive.

TaiwanIt took long to get my door cards even if I've completed the registration for check-in. In addition, it's very difficult to get the taxi. The waiting time is too long.
I received the best services that I've ever had from your concierges, i.e. Simon, Alex, Fred and Leo who are very friendly and helpful to provide me the information I need. While waiting for the texis, they provided me a bottle of water and keep me informed about when the taxi would arrive. Fred gave me a very clear instruction of where to eat and shop. Many thanks for their wonderful services that indeed make your hotel an excellent place to stay!

SingaporeRoom was lux, especially like the tv that I can watch while having a bath. Location was great, a little away from the main attractions but close enough to walk. Also had great transport links for me to go to Cotai strip and further along places. Special mention of the concierge: Fred and another junior staff there. Both was so helpful and friendly, both offered to book tables or cars or whatever they think I need and answer all my queries with utmost friendliness and professionalism. Even right at the end when I was waiting to be picked up by hotel's transport to the Zhuhai/Macau custom point, Fred came to ensure I got onto the right bus. Highly recommend anyone to stay here...abit of old school glam and charm

United States of AmericaWe didn't find the casino to be very upscale, and didn't spend much time there.
This Sofitel is located near the "Inner Harbor" in Macau. It is the only 5-star hotel in that part of the city, and we loved the location. In the mornings, we just walked from the hotel and strolled around the narrow streets of the old town. IMHO that was a huge improvement over the tacky new parts of Macau. Our room was very comfortable indeed -- the bed was superb and all the finishings were great, too. The hotel staff was very helpful and welcoming.

Singapore-
The location was fantastic - a stone’s throw away from the oldest street in Macau (十月初五街) with lots of nostalgic and tasty eateries. It was really easy to get around the area, everything is within walking distance. There’s also a free shuttle that takes you directly from the hotel to the HZMB if you are visiting Hong Kong or Zhu Hai.
