The location of the hotel was fantastic. The breakfast spread was decent. There were a lot of F&B outlets nearby at a walking distance.

Maybe the breakfast can have more different menu😭 I was there for 5 days and there maybe 1-2 day of repetition. But other than that all’s great.

As mentioned the wifi is still a bit unstable but they are upgrading it so I think that’s why it was misbehaving.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Cititel. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms have always been very clean and the room/bed has always been comfortable. The breakfast buffet is generally always good and again, the staff on duty are always friendly and helpful. There has been an improvement to the WiFi since my last visit and although it dropped out at times, in fairness to the hotel, they are in the middle of upgrading it. The location of the hotel is really good as it’s in a quiet area (noise wise) but it’s so easy to get to other areas (heritage area, malls, etc). The Japanese restaurant within the hotel is very good - slightly pricey but the food is great.

The room and bath were VERY small. It was ok for a quick trip, but for a longer stay it wouldn’t be comfortable. For the price and pictures we expected a larger space. Ordered more pillows, communication was a little difficult and we didn’t get what we ordered.

There was a leak in the bathroom

The staff was great. Super helpful and friendly. Buni at the front desk was exceptionally nice and helpful and went above and beyond to please us. Everyone at the front desk was actually really nice and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for more. Our thanks to all of them.

The bathrooms are a little dated and we had a tub/shower combo that felt a little dangerous because the tub is slippery and springy. But the bathrooms function perfectly so we had no complaint at all. We hear you can ask for a room with a walk in shower but we didn’t bother.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Location was perfect, rooms are quiet & comfortable, very clean, beds were fine, everything worked in the bathroom. We were only on the 10th floor but the view was great. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice and lovely staff.

The room was a little small and storage space was limited but manageable for a 3 night stay.

Very well located in the edge of the heritage area, on the free Penang Bus route, so we either walked or used the free bus. There are plenty of eating places within easy reach, Kopi Tiam highly rated in Tripadvisor, Hawker Food centres (though Red Garden was a bit too noisy for us in the evening), Chowrasta Market, as well as western coffee shops. We had the top floor room facing the sea which was lovely.

The WiFi, basically non existent, could get 160mbps at a local cafe but couldn’t even do a speed test in the lobby as the signal was to weak

There’s no dedicated parking lots for driving guess. Although valet services is available for customer that come to have dinner at the restaurants in the hotel, a better management could have prevented difficulties in finding parking lot for the guests whom are driving.

Cititel is located a stone throw away from most of the eateries. Easy to find grab to explore penang. The room was tidy. Bed was fluffy and comfortable most importantly clean. The toilet had good shower water pressure and had toiletries. The view was sea-facing and that was a bonus to watch the beautiful sunsets. the check-in /checkout process was a breeze and uncomplicated. I only wish they had a children's menu in their restaurant but luckily there were many options nearby so it was not a deal breaker. I would definitely stay here again if we travel to penang.

Breakfast was a good and decent spread. Room I booked was spacious and location seems central enough from the Penang International Airport. My only regret was that my trip, a first one, was too short that I didn’t managed to visit a lot of nice places in Penang ☹️
