Cons: The hotel is in serious need of an upgrade. When we arrived at our room, the door was ajar and we had to make sure we properly pushed to close the door to our room and latch it or it won't close properly. Aircon took 8 hours to cool the room down and this was after maintenance had come to take a look at it. We checked in at 3.30pm, left to do our stuff and came back at 8+ at night and the room was still warm. After maintenance took a look at it, the room only became properly cool at 11+ at night. The wall mounted aircon controller will blank out and we had to basically knock on it like how you would knock on a faulty TV to get it to work. The cupboard door housing the minifridge was hanging off it's hinges and may fall off anytime. Toilet was huge but the bathtub has a crack in it and no matter how we try to adjust the shower curtain, the floor WILL end up wet. The wall mounted flush button needs to be held for a long time to get a proper flush for the toilet. The TV is small (I think 32 inch old school flat screen) with patchy audio and the whole screen will 'tear' when whatever show we are watching have any loud sounds. Even though I am a smoker and I did request for a smoking room, the entire floor smells of cigarette smoke the moment we exit the elevator. I applaud the hotel for keeping the smokers in mind but it would be great if the floor corridors had better ventilation and air purifiers to vent the cigarette smell.

Pros: All staff was friendly and responsive. Especially the wait staff at the ground level restaurant. Good service and good food. Location was very convenient as not far from city center/CIQ and walking distance to KSL shopping center. Easy to get Grab to and from the hotel. As a smoker, I chose this hotel as it is one of the last hotels I can find that has a smoking room/floor. We had an excellent view of the city from our 21st floor room with large bay windows. Comfortable beds and appreciate the number of pillows in the room. The room we received was quite clean so kudos to the housekeeping team.

Breakfast is so-so. The spread of food is limited. But we are so shocked that such a hotel does not have any emergency aid box. One of us fell sick and they do not even have panadol in the entire hotel to offer and expected us to go out to KSL City quite close to mid night to buy from a 24-hr shop (which we are not even sure how valid is the information).

The hotel is getting harder and harder to book especially on weekends and holidays. There are times where i tried to book a week before my travel, but there are already no rooms available on my travel dates.

I have booked grand paragon multiple times. And i noticed some changes, there seems to be some minor renovation and touch up. I could see that the rooms looks newer and cleaner as compared to my previous few stay.

Housekeeping staff came to my room at the evening; the time when I was just returning from work; I told the staff not to bother me as I want to rest and relax after a tiring hard work; I was wondering why staff came so late; at 6pm; where else before the time the room was empty for them to do the cleaning?.

I like the spacious room with queen size bed, clean bed sheet, comforter, towel. Shower flowing water was nice; not so warm & very comforting; Drinking water provided was just enough for me to quench my thirst.
