Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaMissed some basics like a can opener. All There are postcards trough out the bungalow saying that we had to have the windows open at all times due to mold problems. Not a great situation when temperatures are a little above freezing. There are no screens in the windows and even now we had some bugs coming in, imagine how bad that is in the summer! Showering was awful with out a curtain, everything gets soaked including the toilet paper and the towels! Small tv with only a few basic channels, maybe not an issue during summer but not great in the winter with 10 days of rain. The heather situation is also an issue during cold days. It shuts itself off after 30 minutes with no movement ( info book said 2 hours but we tested it and it was 30 minutes) it was freezing cold At night, especially for the two elderly people in our company. We were asked to do the dishes before we left but lots of the dishes we used were not clean to begin with;dirty plates, sticky sugar pot and mold in the water cooker so we had to boil water on the stove for tea. We also found it a bit strange that we had to sweep the floors and remove all linens from our beds and stuff them In the pillow cases and put on the table before we left. We paid a decent amount for our 10 day stay and would think that this is included in the cleaning of the bungalow.
Bungalow was big enough for 5 people, beds were comfy if you like a firm mattress. It rained all 10 days we were there but it seemed quiet and lots of privacy with your own little outside area. We were allowed to have both cars parked at our bungalow.

United KingdomThere was no oven or toaster. The beds could do with updating as they are wooden beds that creak everytime you move and the quits could do with replacing as they had dirty marks on them, maybe more pillows too. The property was also infested with ants and the mosquitoes had a field day biting us. The property could do with more hanging space. Be aware of the surcharges that you have to pay on arrival, although you should receive an email about these.
The scenery is lovely, the bungalow is spacious. The owner and family are lovely and helpful. The house keeper was also friendly and helpful.

NetherlandsI would have liked to be notified that we could bring a BBQ along. Because that would've been extra nice. Although there was garden furniture available, there was no light outside - so advise to bring a lamp / candles.
A beautiful location, lots of forests, walking / biking trails, birds singing. Good to get away and have some quiet time. The facilities were simple and clean. Everything worked. There's an excellent "herberg" restaurant nearby if you don't want to cook.

NetherlandsIn spite of the fact that we really liked this place, we must mention that unfortunately the bungalow was not very clean. Looked OK at entry, but floor proved to be very dusty (including in bed and bathroom), and there were lots of cat/door hairs on the couch. Luckily a vacuumcleaner was part of the inventory. Not all plates and pans were clean, but that is an omission of previous guests.
Nice really old fashioned bungalow (single glass windows) but with good heating, nice kitchen and fine bathroom. Separate space to store our bicycles. Bungalows are distant from each other, so each cabin 'free' in its own part of the forest. Great type of accommodation for us (pensioned couple),

NetherlandsKitchen utensils were basic but sufficient. A hoover would have been handy. WiFi a bit patchy but again sufficient.
Exactly what we were looking for, peace and quiet with very few people, surrounded by bird song and squirrels!. Plenty of woods and walking, nature at its best. Friendly guy at reception. Lovely welcome gifts for us and our dogs. Definitely recommend this for well earned escape from day to day life. Accommodation was more than adequate, with everything we needed and comfortable beds!

ItalyWe were 4 people. The bungalow is advertised for 6 people but if you stay as long as we did it becomes very crowded. The bathroom is very small. It was inadequate for us. An oven in the kitchenette would be an advantage.
The location was excellent. The facility is next door to the Utrecht Estate with cycling and walking trails. It is close to the Belgian border for trips into Belgium. Travel distance to Amsterdam was about and hour, it is easy to get to the highways and move around. The villages nearby has supermarkets and restaurants. At the time that we visited it was quiet. The heating was in the bungalow was good.

United KingdomThe heating was programmed to switch itself off regularly, which was very ecological but left me freezing cold on December evenings and very uncomfortable. I believe it was not a fault but deliberately programmed to save money. It was very counter intuitive and I spent a lot of time fiddling about with the boiler controls trying desperately to get it to come back on. Sometimes it would do so and sometimes it wouldn't, leaving me wishing I had never gone there.
It was in the right place for me
