Everything good. The guy at the bike rental place knew more about the hotel than the staff; he says Elizabeth Taylor and Muhammad Ali stayed there.

The balcony was not very clean, spiderwebs everywhere. We also paid extra for late check-out at 3pm but got disturbed twice because apparently not all staff was updated about this. In the end we paid quite a lot for what we got.

The location is great and the superior room with balcony and lake view was very nice and spacious. The breakfast buffet was great and included everything one could need. The pool and sauna area were very nice too, and we had it all to ourselves.

The Front desk people were really nice. We reached the place 1 hour before the check-in time and we requested the front desk staff and they kindly accepted the request and arranged a room for us.

Not that it totally affected our stay, but there were refurbishments going on that we were not told about when booking. The Air conditioning did not work in our room we told reception on two occasions, on the second occasion, the night manager just responded by saying," it's what it is " not a very positive response I would say. I have stayed on other occasions and I would say the hotel interior is looking very dated , let's hope the refurbishment brings it up to date. I would just add finally that the ambience in the hotel was poor, but this may have been due to the refurbishments that were on going.

This period the building from the sea side is under construction, they renovate several areas in the building. It can be a bit noisy, but it was not a real issue for us. Renovations should take place for a better service and facilities :) Apart from that, i would appreciate if the rooms were cleaned better.

Well located, in the heart of Volendam. Recently the parking price changed to 25€ but the information we got when we initially booked the room was 15€. Very kind from his side, the manager settled it down for us.

The Hotel Spaander is a place to fall in love with. The artpieces skattered on the walls of the old hotel tell the history of this place but also the history of Volendam. The people are very friendly. The views on the IJsselmeer are superb. What can I tell more: I certainly come back and bring my wife next time. Thank you.

Very nice hotel in the city center and in the old part of the town which is a beautiful area. The stuffs are friendly, the building has a historical vibe with a huge amazing lounge with the ocean view. Breakfast was amazing.

The hotel staff were a bit ambivalent - not a very personal experience. It was disappointing that our room could have been cleaner - for example, there was an ash tray full of cigarette butts on our terrace. Please also be aware that you will have to book in advance if you want to eat in the hotel's restaurant.

An excellent location right in the heart of Volendam. An amazing building, steeped in history, full of art and lovely Dutch furniture. Good, light breakfast room and excellent breakfast.

No bin in the bathroom! No towel rails in the bathroom! Stairs to the top deck were narrow as expected so suggest anyone who is significantly overweight or who has mobility issues thinks twice before booking.

We had a lovely room with a king sized bed upstairs and a sofa bed for our child downstairs which gave us some privacy. The bathroom was clean and we had a balcony with a wonderful view of the lake. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the swimming pool was spotless. The artwork was incredible!

Mosquitoes in our room. it needs insect screens. my hand are covered in bites, I seem to be allergic to them

a place full of atmosphere and wonderful art work. The staff were efficient and pleasant. once you got in there the position was perfect. getting in was terrifying because of unfamiliar bollards and no information for visitors

for half board residents there was virtually no choice of food. We expected a bit more, if we had known beforehand we would not have opted for half board. The hotel could do with a face lift.
