The staff always smiling and ready to help with questions and recommendations. The room was excellent and the bed was the best. We also enjoyed their cafe next door with nice seating on the plaza.

Very thin windows, but which seems also standard in the NL. Can be inconvenient if cold or loud (because e.g. some kind of festival) outside.

Because it's so central you also get the city noises of cleanup crews, deliveries to businesses, students going out etc, however this wasn't a deal-breaker for us but something to consider. The hotel does provide ear plugs. Also, the bedding was very comfortable but strangely loud.

This hotel is beautifully styled, our room 2 had a very comfortable bed and a great shower. The location is very central and the staff were great and kept my bags safe for me after checkout. There were some very steep stairs to navigate but this was doable for us. Clearly a lot of thought has been put into the look of the room.

The hotel overlooks a busy square so Friday night was a little noisy. The owners had thoughtfully provided ear plugs.

I love the idea of checking in at a plant shop. Our room was up under the eaves and was meticulously designed with its own tiny balcony. It was a delightful space to return to after a day of sightseeing.

We liked everything.

Such a great place to stay to explore Utrecht, we loved our room, so stylish and comfortable, the roof terrace was a lovely feature. The bed was comfortable. Severine was very sweet and helpful, gave us some great suggestions for eating out locally. We ❤️ Utrecht and Daens Hotel made it a special holiday. Thank you.

Only very minor thing for me was the bed was very soft. But that is a personal preference and not reflective on the quality of my stay.

Location, the standard and decor of the accomodation. Ease of communication and offered some flexibility for check-in on request. Morning espresso on the private balcony was a highlight.

These are really no complaints, it simply would have made the stay more than perfect: the windows, though beautiful and big, are not insulated at all. there's a small draft (the curtains cover that) but light sleepers should be aware that you can hear absolutely everything that goes on outside, it sounds like having the windows wide open. Let's just say, there is a reason for the kindly provided oropax on the bedside. During summer it is probably a bit loud. Heavy sleepers like me won't have a problem, though. Another detail for colder seasons: there is no heating in the bathroom. After taking a shower my partner and I hurried back to bed to get warm again :D

This is a lovely hotel with incredibly friendly and forthcoming staff. We were able to come a little early, we could leave our luggage after check-out. The hotel is situated at the heart of town, yet it is a rather quiet square (at least in winter). Upon our arrival we found a tin box of stroop waffles, a bottle of wine and some local roasted nuts. There's a little fridge, cuttlery and plates - really welcoming and wonderfully equipped.

The bed was a little hard and could have used a few more usable pillows.... but that is me being a little nit-picky.

This was a lovely property. We stayed in room 3 and it had a balcony. I was well styled and just felt really cool and comfortable. Overall it was lovely and in a perfect location in the heart of the city.

Only very small things - The lighting was a bit dim (especially during November in NL it is nice to have a little extra light). The was street/bar noise on Saturday night but didn't bother us once we put earplugs in. Stair up to room are steep BUT super typical of Dutch houses so not unexpected.

Beautiful room with super comfortable beds located right in the heart of Utrecht. Lots of cute high quality extras like coffee and tea, plus a mini fridge and glasses. Room was very spacious and comfortable to hang out in. Easy check-in and check-out great communication with hotel.

Beautiful well thought out room in a great location. They thought about everything you need for a super comfortable stay. Fantastic rain shower, mini fridge, blue-tooth speaker, coffee maker, plates, bowls, glasses & cutlery, even earplugs & umbrellas you can borrow. The staff in the greenhouse shop are extremely friendly & very helpful. I had an issue with the bedding because I'm allergic to feathers & forgot to check when I booked, they sorted it out with hypoallergenic bedding with no problem & were very kind about it! No issues leaving our bags after check out. Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again! Thank you so much!

Caution, like most all of these historic buildings, the steps to the second floor are steep and winding.

The staff was brilliant in the care they provided. The location was incredible with ten foot windows and double glass doors that open onto a picturesque plaza.

No breakfast. As we had room 3 with rooftop balcony, we bought breakfast food at supermarket 1/2 block away and ate it on the balcony. Room fully equipped with silverware, dishes, bowls, cups. Beautiful decor. They decorated our room with hearts to celebrate our anniversary! 💕 nose from cafes below til midnight or so. But they supply earplugs next to the bed. Beware: STEEP STEPS. loved dinner at Streetfood Club a block away. Amazing food!
