Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CroatiaIt was quite cold in the apartment and the water was dripping in both bathrooms. A microwave would be very helpful as well as more kitchen utensils (knives, kitchen cloths etc.)
The location is great, very close to everything, and the neighborhood around Vondel Park is beautiful. The apartment is nicely decorated with thoughtful details and art.

United States of AmericaThe kitchenette could easily accommodate a microwave, toaster oven, and/or single burner. In traveling with a baby we had no way of heating up his bottles. There were several previous reviews that mentioned a shortage of linens; we hopped that this would have been addressed but there was only one provided dish towel in the kitchen, none for hand drying in either bathroom. We didn't need additional blankets but a throw on the couch would have been welcome. A few more hooks in the bedrooms for hanging clothes would be helpful too.
The apartment's location is great, at the heart of Vondelpark. The proximity to a grocery store, the tram, and many other destinations was wonderful when traveling with a baby. The internet connection was good. The stairs are steep for anyone not coming from NL but they're manageable, even with luggage.

United KingdomWe had a dripping tap in the upstairs bathroom which was a little noisy the first night but we found a cloth to absorb the sound and it was fine
Spacious gem of an apartment about 5 minutes walk from Leidseplein so easy to get to by tram and a short distance to all the bars and entertainment, the foodhallen, museums and the vondelpark.

United States of AmericaThe two sets of very steep stairs, although authentic, had to be carefully managed. There is no microwave or toaster oven so you really only save money on breakfast. I couldn’t get the tv or clothes dryer to work. Not critical but disappointing.
Location was great. Near parks and restaurants

LebanonThe ambiance of this apartment, the authenticity, and cleanliness. We liked the facilities provided. The host was very responsive and communicated details on how to access the apartment and accommodated our request to check in at a very late arrival (around 2 am) with some considerations to the neighborhood. The apartment was a Dutch house: you open the door to the staircase to reach the first floor which consists of a kitchenette, and a cozy sofa bed in the living room; for the 2nd floor, you climb the stairs to the 2 bedrooms, storage room, and a spacious bathroom.

United Kingdomthe fact that the apartment cannot be locked separately from the rest of the property. this is very poor for security and meant carrying around heavy valuables that could not be left. a separate lock is definitely needed.
location and charm - beautiful little hidden back street that was peaceful and yet so central

GreeceThe rest of the apartment was not very clean. There were yellow stains on our sheets and the plates, dishes, and cutlery were dirty so we had to wash them to use them. Also, half the lights were not working like the one over the kitchen table. Lastly, the front door of the apartment cannot be locked even though there are other renters in the building which made us feel unsafe leaving the house. While in the house, we could keep the door shut with a bolt.
The apartment was very well equipped and there were many extras, like a hair dryer and a hair straightener. The bathroom and the wc were clean. The location was also very convenient.

GreeceOnly one Minor issue: the 'box' in the shower that contained the shower gel did not work so we couldn't use it. But it could happen to anyone. I'm sure they will fix it for the next guest 😊

United KingdomIt was smaller than the photos depicted and shabbier. It also smelt stale, like cigarettes and the bedrooms were mouldy - mould spores on the curtains and around the windows. Kitchen was poorly furnished with an open extension lead hanging next to the sink - really quite hazardous! The stares to the bedrooms were slippy with a wobbling rail and completely open on the other side. The key for the lock didn't fit smoothly either, took ages to get in. For over 400quid it's beyond disappointing, I could understand if it was budget price but for over 200quid a night it's just extortionate.
Good location, near to tram lines and shops/bars/restaurants. Communication via messages with host was fairly responsive

AustraliaHeading suggest beautiful apartment - not how we would describe - Upon arrival the steps up to the apartment were very steep and narrow. Fine if it's two of you but not a family of 4 travelling for 5 weeks with lots of luggage. There is no cooking facilities at all which was very disappointing. Not even a microwave. Only a toaster and kettle. Lighting in the apartment is very poor. The steps up to the very small bedrooms are also extremely steep, difficult to get big suitcases up and no alternative to leave downstairs as there is very little space. Every faucet leaked bar the one in the kitchen, the tap to the washing mean drips A LOT. This was noted on a review from 12 months ago and has not been repaired. There is mould on one of the bedroom curtains and the window in the bedroom to the right does not close properly (also noted on a previous review). Not ideal when travelling in January! FYI The supermarket suggested that is just up the road (Albert Heijn) does not accept major credit cards, only cash or Maestro cards which is fine if you're from Europe however we are not and learnt this the hard way, once everything had already been scanned. We paid over $300 a night for this apartment overall value for money not there. Also noted in a previous review it feels almost like a shared space as you come in immediately you open the door and look as though you have walked into someone else's apartment as there are coats and clothes on the hanger!
Location was good. Handy to trams. Quiet location.

United KingdomWasn't that clean. Bathroom had wet tissue in the shower floor & there was hair everywhere, had to clean ourselves. Bed sheets wern't particularly clean. A little far from the city centre. About a 1/2 hour walk but could catch the tram. Very loud outside the apartment with building work & noisy neighbours.
Cute little apartment great size for 4 travellers for a few nights.
