To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThe only issue we encountered with our room was we were placed in a bedroom with 4 single beds but we just joined 2 together to make it spacious enough for us to sleep then returned the beds to their original positions before checking out
It was close enough to the train station and the main centre for our travels and the view where the hotel is situated is a bonus we never expected when booking. The reception staff were very pleasant and welcoming and check in was very easy for us.

United KingdomThe room was a little bit too small. We couldn't open the window due to there being a sheer drop. It meant little ventilation in the room. The lift was broken the 1st two days of our stay.
It was an excellent location. We couldn't have asked for better. The staff were friendly and helpful and fixed the broken curtain straight away. As the lift was broken on arrival they offered to carry the suitcase for us.

United KingdomIt’s incredibly noisy, we stayed on the first floor just above the main door and could feel and hear every time someone walked in. Unfortunately the walls were not great either, in the morning I got woken up by a neighbouring alarm and it felt like someone was in the room with us due to how thin the walls are
