Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomYou entered via their lovely cafe which was great when arriving home but not so good in the morning when customers arrive & it’s noisy. Feels like they are in your room with you so not so private or flexible to sleep in after a late night. Can also hear other guests moving around above you at 2am in the morning. Also didn’t want to shower as the frosted window is right in the shower and on the main walk way into the cafe so felt exposed. Luckily my friend checked us in whom is Dutch, if not I wouldn’t have known that I had call the host for the key as my email information was also in Dutch.
Location was great and close to all amenities in Lochem. Food beautiful in the cafe and the service was fantastic. So whilst inconvenient for waking up time it’s great to have this luxury once you’re up and ready to eat. Would still stay again though knowing the below issues.

NetherlandsThe (small) room adjoins the cafe. You literally enter the room from the main dining room of the cafe -- we have travelled the world but never seen something like that. Its fine-ish since the cafe closes relatively early but it is still a bit unusual. We'd be ok with this if it was a bit cheaper but at this price the value for money is definitely not there.
Centrally located -- indeed you can't be any more centrally located than that in Lochem. Clean.

United KingdomThe windy staircase was a little narrow if you have some larger suitcases to take up. But this is very minor.
Lovely rooms. Very comfortable. Lovely shower, just remember to close the bathroom door so not to set off the alarms in the morning.

United KingdomIron spiral staircase to upstairs rooms was ok for us but may be difficult for some. There is a downstairs room.
Loved having a kitchenette with microwave to prepare simple meals when did not fancy going out. Large room and good shower. Warm and welcoming. Great terrace for sitting outside to eat Fantastic breakfast Location in centre of Lochem which is a beautiful town.

What a wonderful friendly and helpful staff. My father and mother stayed there for one night. They needed assistance as they are old and have some memory issues. The staff looked very well after them so they had a great stay in this superb location.

United KingdomI don't think anything could have been better
Perfect position very close to the huge church, communial kitchen with fridge, microwave coffee and tea making facilities which was spotless, this lead out onto a raised balcony perfect for early morning coffee in the sun. Was worried about the church bells but they sound great and quiet when in the room. Hotel is less than 100yards from a old square with places to eat and have a drink, we stayed here on the way back from a trip to Denmark, perfect in every way Really nice owner

United KingdomNothing. It was all perfect.
This is a 'bijou' bed & breakfast of star quality. It is right in the centre of Lochem, as its name suggests, so everything is on the doorstep. The host was kind and helpful, and the breakfast was to die for- fantastic start to the day. The beds were large and very comfortable, as was the room as a whole, and the beautiful terraces where you could sit and chat/read/think just rounded it all off. Wonderful!

SwitzerlandUnfortunately there was building work going on around, so we were awakened very early with music/building work. Also, Access to property was up a very narrow spiral staircase, which was fine for us but not suitable for elderly or anyone who struggles with stair climbing, or a bringing a large case.
Location was perfect, centre of town, lovely outlook, in summer, despite not having a balcony, there are plenty tables to sit outside. Also access to tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge were a bonus. Breakfast was lovely and host was charming.
