There wasn't really anything we didn't like about our stay here aside from the noise you're able to hear from passing guests/neighbouring rooms but wasn't too bad. Also parking is limited to what's available on the side streets so if you miss out or arrive late you may have to park away from the Hotel & walk. But on the plus side its Free Parking on the weekends.

What's not to like about it here?! Loved how central it was!! The building itself had the genuine feel of classic Art Deco vibe which we all know is one of Napier's beloved attractions. That Art Deco style is reflected throughout the hotel which was elegant and stylish.

The old character of the hotel was bought to life with contemporary decor and design. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Location is centrally located in the CBD close to restaurants and bars. With great options for fitness along the shoreline pathways, and swimming at the Marine Parade public pool across the road.

Irish Cafe below my room could be noisy at times. TV offerings were very very limited.

The ambiance & old fashioned feeling of the place. Pleasant internal courtyards to relax in. Very well located overall.

    • Parking is a challenge. • The street lights on Emerson Street are very bright. Blackout curtains would be a good idea.

    • Unique property in the heart of Napier, within easy walking distance of the Art Deco centre and coastal promenade. • Beautifully furnished rooms, everyone is different. • Guest laundry - yay! • Lots of dining options close by, including some on site.

Even with grab rails the step up into the shower-over-bath is a challenge and possible safety risk for older people or those with challenges (eg., large or frail people).

Very comfortable bed. I liked that the room opened onto a terrace looking towards the bay.

Internal stairs to reach our apartment which we were not aware of. Important for older visitors to know this before booking. No Hotel staff to help with luggage to apartment, 3 ladies in their seventies left to do this themselves. Couches need restoring, springs sagging. Microwave was dirty when we moved in.

Central location, art deco style. Beds comfy. Nice little outdoor area for sitting. Food at the downstairs restaurant really good. This is not operated by the hotel but it is certainly an asset having it in the building. Staff here were amazing, friendly and helpful.
