Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaMinor issue but we had a small leak in the bathroom.
Fantastic location near the main area. Erica & Jamal (I think I miss spelled it) were both so helpful in helping us connect with a private tour guide/driver for Sacred Valley. They stored our luggage & the driver picked them up from the hotel & met us at the train station upon our return from Aquas Calliente & drove us to Cusco. Breakfast was good.

United States of AmericaIt would be nice if they added screens to the windows to control bugs. The shower drain was slow and the vent fan could have worked better. Carpet could use replacing.

The property is a little off the main square which makes it quiet and peaceful. The only things I could hear were birds and the stream. Wonderful for a relaxing acclimation. It is a quick and easy walk to the train station and delicious restaurants.

I only had a backpack with me, so this helped getting to this location. The internet was perfect and I was able to hold audio calls via the internet.

United States of AmericaIt was all positive.
The Apu Lodge is a charming little place tucked up in the old part of Ollamtaytambo. It's a bit of a walk over cobblestones, but they will help you with your luggage if you need it. Our room was on the second floor, so we could open the balcony doors every night to gather the breeze and admire the view of the mountains and the ruins. There's a beautiful garden surrounding the lodge, with seating. Breakfast was made to order. If you're used to the Hilton, this might be considered rustic, but the peace and quiet and views made the experience in this lovely little town part of the experience.

United States of AmericaWe had a lovely stay at this serene property situated at the end of a charming cobblestone street. The mountain views from the hotel were beautiful. We discovered this place four years ago during a day trip to Ollantaytambo and remembered it for our recent visit. We were delighted to stay at Apu Lodge this time and the staff was extremely helpful. They arranged breakfast for us very early in the morning before our trip to Machu Picchu. We will be back for sure next time we visit Ollantaytambo.

United States of AmericaDuring the odd season, the in-house pizza oven is not always running, but there are plenty of other options nearby, so it isn't a huge concern.
Amazing views of the mountains, friendly staff. Quiet area, a little off the beaten path from central Ollantaytambo, but still only a 5 minute walk to the town square. Breakfast was always great. Water pressure and temperature were great. Wifi worked great.

United States of AmericaTurn off the outside light in the front of the building . It attracts bugs at night and I did not want to open that balcony door! Or is it on for security ?
The Apu Lodge has a very authentic feel at the top of a pedestrian cobblestone alley in a quiet part of town. We were met at the town square with a luggage cart, and our suitcases were brought up for us. Thank goodness, the wheels might not survive the cobblestone Inca streets! The staff is delightful, and willing to help in any way. Suggestion: Be considerate and travel light in this country. Laundry service was available and dirt cheap for a great job. Breakfast was delicious and coffee ready early. Coca and Muna Tea and filtered water always available. Rooms were small but adequate for two people with luggage. We booked the family room on the second floor. It has four beds. The bathroom was small for four people, but we liked the roominess of the room. And it has a small balcony.

United States of AmericaAlmost nothing was worth mentioning in a bad light. The only thing I can think of that I might change was that quarters were close in the room for our family of four, although we had adequate beds. But since we chose to spend most of our time in the garden, lobby, or exploring, this didn’t matter really.
We absolutely LOVE the location of Apu lodge. Even though it’s a bit of a hike to reach with suitcases from the square, that means that it is so very quiet and peaceful. The garden is a beautiful, healing place, with many hummingbirds and songbirds and butterflies. The staff are oh-so friendly, cooking us handmade omelets for breakfast each morning & fresh-squeezed orange juice. There are several small hikes easily doable from Apu lodge, making it a great hub for exploring local Incan ruins.

The hotel is at the edge of town, so there is a beautiful view, overlooking the whole town on one side of the room, and the other had a view of the mountains. The staff was friendly and helped us find a great restaurant in town. It’s a charming location.
