“We had a superb light, bright unit - one of the ones higher up at the back that have views of the mountains, the vineyard and ocean. The owner is really friendly, but very busy running the place, so catch him when you can for local info. He keeps the place rustic and charming and it feels peaceful and private. The property is well placed in the middle of the island for all the sights and a handful of nearby restaurants do good local food. We sadly had a lot of bad weather but the big view at least meant we could watch the drama unfold! The airport is very close by if you are flying. To sum up: a lovely rural place to stay and great value too.”
“We had a wonderful stay here. They have a few units on the property and our was upstairs, with a large balcony overlooking Pico island. The space was generous and incredibly comfortable given how remote the island is. The owners were generous with information, time, and so hospitable. They have several animals on the property as well as vegetable gardens. The 5 euro breakfast is a steal and we were satisfied.”

“Such a beautiful view! These are whole houses and that makes it so comfortable as a family. There is a bathtub, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine - everything really. The guest houses are located on the mountainside above Velas and off we stunning views over the ocean and the neighbouring Pico island. The host of these houses is the friendliest and most helpful lady ever. When asked for an extra heater, she went and got one immediately. She checked in on us a few times to make sure we were comfy and she was sweet and kind to our son.”
“Really loved the whole feel of this place. Very beautiful house with lovely gardens and pretty views. So great to have a washing machine and clothes line provided. The host, although we never met, was easy to communicate with via booking.com and, when we asked for a heater (because it's been unseasonable bad weather), the request was fulfilled promptly. It made our stay so much more snug. We loved that they had board games. It was very nice to introduce our son to Snakes and Ladders. The kitchen is super well-equipped and even has some handy cooking basics such as salt and pepper. Gorgeous, quiet location. It's a short walk to the shoreline and it's really nice to investigate the rock pools there. There is a great outdoor kitchen too.”
