Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I loved everything about this hotel! Have nothing bad to say!
This hotel has such an old world charm. Felt like we were staying in a palace. Location is amazing right in the city center. Staff was great. Breakfast was really good with so many options in a beautiful room. Bar in lobby made great drinks and had a pianist play during happy hour! Booked a private tour through concierge which was top notch. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again!

Great location, close to old town, metro at the bottom of Avenida de Liberdade, friendly and helpful staff, it’s a well maintained century old hotel with all the grandeur of by gone days

This hotel is perfection and this will ALWAYS be our home when we’re in Lisbon. We are so grateful to the kind and generous staff who went out of their way to make our stay so comfortable:: tidying up the room twice , leaving chocolates and little gifts to find when we arrived home from a day in the city. Every staff person is courteous, kind and,helpful and always had a smile on their face for each question we had. We absolutely love this elegant, old world hotel. It’s everything a hotel should be. We will be back. 💖

Nothing, this place was brilliant.
A fantastic hotel, not cheap, but worth the money. Truly impressive breakfast, staff that go the extra mile, beautiful room and easy free onsite parking in a great central location. I would highly recommend it.

The evening music performances were only one hour. It would have been better if they had been a little longer.
Excellent Location, Room on the top floor which gave us a nice view and was quiet. In particular enjoyed the surprises left in the room, a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent and the Staff were very attentive.

Decor is a bit dated for my liking - but that is the style of the hotel/it's historic so I think that's kind of the point...
Lovely hotel in a great location. Friendly staff greeted us on arrival & held bags until check-in time. Very clean, welcome pastel de natas left in the room as a nice touch. Delicious breakfast. Clean comfortable room. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location in centre of Lisbon with many top quality restaurants a short walk away. Breakfast was exceptional. Massive variety of hot and cold buffet with fresh fruit, joghurts, pastries etc The decor throughout is magnificent and the epitome of luxury Similarly the bar was elegant and comfortable and well stocked with a huge variety of drinks

I liked everything.
Breakfast was great. First room offered was not what I had booked but they made the change quickly. Location of the hotel was perfect. All the staff was friendly and accommodating.
