Hotel is in a central location. If you like classic, it’s a great place to stay. Old, but renovated building. Breakfast had a lot of options.Staff was great. We interacted with Fernando a few times, and he was super helpful. If you travel by car, you should call hotel before you get there, because it’s located on one way pedestrian street, but they will make a gate open for you , so you can unload, and they will explain you how to get to parking. Hope you get a small car, parking spots are small😊.

Welcoming staff. Traditional decor and location right in the middle of the main street and within walking distance of everything in the old town. Lovely bar, sitting rooms, fabulous ambience Excellent breakfast. The room was compact, but everything needed was available. Wonderful bathroom. We will stay here again on another visit to Porto.

It was unseasonably warm, and it was difficult to get the room temperature comfortable at night. I couldn't leave the window open because of the noise outside.

Grande Hotel do Porto is in a great location for doing a lot of walking around the city, and I liked the old-style charm. Buffet breakfast was great. The bar and library were great places to unwind with friends after a busy day.

It really is a grand hotel! Full of old world charm. The dining room where breakfast was served is elegant, and the breakfast is lovely. I most enjoyed being able to come back after a day of sightseeing and relaxing in the library to have a drink with friends

The hotel is stunning and full of historic style and glamour. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is excellent, and the dining room has to be seen to be believed! The location is excellent for visiting Porto as everything is on your doorstep, with the river attractions being a 15-minute walk downhill. There is a metro round the corner, and the main train station with airport links is 5 mins away. The station itself is a must-see venue.The wonderful market is also round the corner , and customers can enjoy a glass of wine and plate cheese or charcuterie as they wander around. A large glass of red wine is 2.50. Euros.

There was nothing not to like about this hotel. However I did struggle a bit with the toilet being located on the lower floor of the room down a small spiral shaped staircase as I have a dodgy ankle (suffer with arthritis following a bad break) and was worried about falling when getting up to go to the bathroom in the night. I’m sure if I had mentioned my concerns to the hotel though they may have tried to accommodate us in another room if there was one available but I didn’t ask so that is my fault. Not the hotels.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a very central location. Perfect for exploring the city of Porto. We were allocated a family room on the ground floor which was based on two floors and was quite obviously recently newly renovated. The shower and separate toilet were located down stairs along with a sofa bed in another decent sized room. The complete room was spotlessly clean and bright. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and consistently topped up so it was fresh and warm.

Everyone at the hotel was very helpful giving us directions and suggestions. The included breakfast was varied and tasty. Our room was quite comfortable. We could not have asked for a better location to explore the city on foot.
