Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GreeceThe receptionist was rather rude to us and his ability of speaking english was poor. In a country like Portugal that us very hot there is a need of cold water in your room and there was no fridge in the room. There was no window in the room and the room was very small. The stairs for the upper floor were over our bed so the ceiling was very low and we hurt our head many times.
The location was very good. It was clean.

LuxembourgOn the Sunday morning I woke up twice, first at 0130 and then again at 0445, this linked to that you have to ring a doorbell after 2400 to get in, the signal / doorbell was loud and echoes through the reception area and to our room one level higher, this should be done in a different way, avoiding waking up the guest who are not out partying. The rooms are very sensitive to noise from the stairway outside, you wake up when someone gets back late.
Best location we ever had, always maximum 800m by foot to all what we wanted to see. Small room, but functional.

SpainThe location is good in terms of being close to Saõ Bento train station, Cathedral (Sé) and other sights, is really comfortable/strategic, however the street where it's located, at night can feel sketchy.
Nice tiny cozy room, very comfortable, the check-in process is very easy and staff replies effectively to any question you may have during your stay.

United States of AmericaThe stairs can be daunting. (Andre to the rescue!) The towels are thin and scratchy.
The property was a lovely modern surprise tucked neatly on a street that looks like it will burst with energy after the construction of the museum across the street. Inside, despite many stairs, was inviting and warm. The staff eagerly helped me with my bag. After a speedy check in, André took a full ten minutes directing us on dinner options. Our light and bright rooms were spacious with huge double glazed windows to the back. The shower was perfect. There is a heater, wall mounted tv, extra pillows and blanket. Breakfast was good. The hotel, two hilly blocks from the Sao Bento train, is in a great location for getting around.

United KingdomTemperatures did drop. The heating worked well but with large windows the heat didn't stay in. There was a dripping from bath tap that wouldn't stop. Our room was fairly close to street level so could hear outside noises at night (drunk people). Breakfast was sufficient but not much for a vegetarian or vegan. Even the tongs for the cheese were set to use for sliced meats and cheese (these should be separate) The fruit wasn't topped up until 3 days later, so there was only over ripened bananas as an option most days.
Location was great, central to everything in the city It was well maintained and the rooms were comfy The guy that checked us in was nice enough to give me a kettle for the stay as it was really cold and wanted hot water for tea.

United States of AmericaLots of stairs to get to the room which was very small. There was hardly a place to put our bags. And the breakfast, other than the espresso was marginal. Better to go out to a cafe.
It was clean, beds were good and with the windows closed no street noise. Staffed by nice young people. And it is in a great location.

United KingdomWould have given a 10 but the toilet was leaking slightly. A container had been put there by the staff which I emptied each morning. Also there was a slight smell of drains and occasionally cigarette smoke. These seem a lot of issues to only deduct 1 point for and had I been in the room more they may have caused me more distress. However the location is so so good this went a long way to make up for what probably was out of the control of the owners (understand takes time to organise plumber and drains smell is not uncommon in Portugal also cigarette smoke can drift from outside).
Location - a Hilton is 30 seconds walk down the road and is rated no. 1 in Porto on Trip Advisor. I enjoyed going there for food and drinks- not expensive for a Hilton but the rooms a lot more than here. Guest House is very near the famous bridge, Cathedral and Sao Bento metro and train station (metro exit signed for historic area is nearest - there are two exits for the Sao Bento metro). Recommend National Theatre tour (just uphill from hotel). Visited Braga (lovely Cathedral) and Aveiro (canal type waterways with colourful boats) on train from Sao Bento. Recommend a tourist gets a 24 hr or 72 hr Adante metro ticket 7€ / 15€ if will use metro a lot. Ticket machines for metro and train easily converted to English / other languages. Trains also inexpensive. Taxi from airport (shared fare with others met at Airport) but was only €32 total with 2 separate stops and at 11pm on a Sunday evening. Metro however is only €2 from airport. Metro very easy. Bom Successo market (Casa da Musica Metro) excellent with restaurants and bars within. Leonidas Chocolate shop nearby to there - fabulous. Also Cable Car very good - get on across road from one stop on metro after Sao Bento (first one over the bridge). Or walk over the bridge. Loved Porto! A few people commented street may seem unsafe at night. Yes, there are homeless people sheltering at night particularly in covered areas - also of the Theatre and Cathedral but there is a housing problem in Portugal. I am sure these people are not on the streets by choice. I was never bothered by anyone and came back relatively late on a night.

Very charming and spacious room, comfortable beds, great shower. The entire accommodation seems to be recently renovated and everything looked very new, making a nice impression. Perfect location, walkable distance to many sighseeing. It was a pity we stayed there for only one night. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Porto.

SerbiaThe bathroom is very small, the wardrobe lacked the length so only shirts can be hanged. I did not mind, but the sound proofing was poor.
Guest House Triunfo is situated next to the main attractions, metro line and University, in a old, historic building. There are nice restaurants and bars close by. The room is nicely decorated and cozy, with huge windows. The WiFI was excellent. The breakfast was simple but tasty, with good coffee and Pastis de Nata every morning. The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English.
