Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNeed to email or text arrival instructions with door codes et al
Not the normal Hostel vibe as there is no common area, bar, pool table et al. The location is as good as possible in ground zero Gamla Stan… surrounded by cafes, bars quick walk to Nobel museum, Palace, ferry boats. Getting in the room is a bit of a chore… kinda like an AirBnB Hostel. You have to use a tinny intercom at the front door and then get instructions on where to find your envelope with key, WiFi and 2 door codes. Needless to say we had another guest that arrived, got us past the 2 keypad doors and we were in! We had to do the same thing a few days later with another confused guest. They should email/text the entry instructions before arrival

United States of AmericaWe stayed 3 nights & it was quite noisy from the streets. Windows do not block the sound at all. There were only 3 mixed (female/male) showers and 2 toilets which did not seem sufficient for the number of people that were there. One bathroom did not have toilet paper for a whole day. Absolutely no common spaces not even a chair/sofa. We arrived earlier ( around 10:30am) & we were told we could leave our bags around the front desk , but no one could watch them & that there was no other place to store.
I like that it was close to a metro station.

PolandLack of hygienic things. No salt, sugar in the shared kitchen. Cleaning things in the kitchen were old and towels were not changed. In toilets were lack of paper, no hand sanitizers in the public areas.
I like the most a location! Hostel is situated in the middle of Gamla stan, very close to all attraction, cafes, shops, channel!!! Room was ok.

Czech RepublicThe window could not be opened properly (it swung open) so it needed to be closed because it was noisy outside. A little bit confusing to get inside. Because of high ratings and price tag we expected a more comfortable experience, but the facilities were relatively basic (e.g. need to make our own beds) although sufficient.
Excellent location, sufficient service.

GermanyWhen booking, the staff agreed to a different check-in time, which was confusing to us: when we arrived nobody was there and we could only enter the building by calling someone and talking to a guest. Although everything in the hostel was generally working, the main light in our room was broken, one hook for closing the window was missing and the wall-paint was flaking.
We liked the location right in the middle of the beautiful historic Gamla Stan; the location was the main reason why we booked this accomodation. Moreover, the price was reasonable (at least in comparison with other accomodations in the area).

United Kingdom- Lock on our floor door was broken so safety issue - 6 rooms to 1 shower: we were unable to get a shower in the morning due to this (waited from 7am and just decided to leave when it got to 10am) - Bad odour on entire floor, like faeces - Kitchen has signs saying not to use the facilities - is only a microwave & kettle & fridge (they throw all food out on Mondays even if labelled, not an issue for us but not really hostel-friendly) -‘ SILENT AT ALL TIMES’ commanding signs everywhere - clearly no one felt comfortable to use the social areas - obscene fines for all circumstances were in warning all over property - our room appeared clean but there was actually rubbish under the bed and a minor stain on the bedding (ironic as they seemingly fine $$$ for ‘incorrect use of bedding’ - you put the bedding on yourself) - room was a lot smaller than thought
- Great location - overlooking cafes on the old town from window

Germanybefore you got twice the conditions in quite unfriendly form communicated. additional fees would apply for late check-in. We were there early enough, but the check-in worked via the bell and intercom... that would also be possible 24 hours a day without additional fees.
Great apartment in gamla stan. Environment was a bit louder - live music in the pub across the street. But that's to be expected.

PolandI had a feeling that, as a guest, I’m already labelled as the worst type of tourist. There were printed information that you CANNOT eat and drink in the room. You felt like you should starve and don’t breath. You had to prepare your bed by putting covers to pillow and duvet (in the leaflet this information was crossed out (like it was not valid anymore), but at the end i had to do it by myself. They were highliting that if you have your own covers, they will check if you use it properly…it was humiliating…i don’t know who slept there in the past but I felt like i’m going to prison and now I have to be punished and follow THEIR rules. All these attractions were available for 90 EUR per night per person in the room you can barely stand as 70% of it was taken by a bed. I totally understand that it’s a hostel in the middle of the old town in Stockholm, but all these things were really unnecessery.
In the center of Stockholm; good if you just need a place to sleep
