It's hard to get used to this as a European, but it's not customary (or maybe they don't like it) to flush the toilet paper. It is one of those things. There was nothing else that was particularly negative and bad for us. You should also be prepared for a preference for cash payments, except in a few places.

It was our first trip to Thailand, and therefore our first experience of what it was like there. The country, especially the island of Koh Samui, is beautiful! The people, not just the accommodation staff, are open and friendly, you can tell they are sincere to the guest! The accommodation is located not far from the centre of the town, extending right down to the sea. Our room was on the second floor, we could see the sea from the window, the view was beautiful! It was just like the pictures. Every day there was cleaning, always fresh linen, the staff was very nice and helpful. We asked for breakfast as an extra for our room, it consisted of local fruits, cereals, other breakfast foods, you could have it with the other guests at the beach bar. Value for money for us (there were two of us) it was absolutely worth it, I can recommend it with a clear heart!

One day I waited over 45 mins to get a pool/beach towel as the process was not great, I believe this is now fixed though. The towels never smelt or felt clean either. Would be great to have a full length mirror in the room.

Lovely new bathroom, shower was good, bed very big, staff always welcoming and happy to help, my boyfriend hurt his foot and the lady at reception came to help with all medical products, she was amazing. Hotel right on the beach and near lots of restaurants. Mini bar prices were really reasonable.

Nothing- we loved everything!!

The service & staff were all outstanding! The host Tan at the restaurant was so warm and welcoming she was fantastic! The staff go above and beyond for all their guests, they even surprised me with decorating my room with a birthday banner! All facilties were great and very clean. Bed was very comfortable! Pool was huge and very clean. You are only a few steps away from the beach from the pool! And the restaurant has a great view overlooking the beach/ sea. The location was also amazing, you are right in the middle of the street that has loads of restaurants and bars, walking distance to them all plus walking distance to the mall. The room was very quiet you would not know you are close to the busy street at all. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, I would happily book here again!

Only the facilities on the beach could be better, a few more loungers and (newer/larger) parasols would be good

absolutely wonderful stay, very nice facility, on the perfect beach, beautiful rooms with balcony, refrigerator, laptop safe and a very nice bathroom with walk-in shower and glass wall, breakfast buffet in the open restaurant Moon Dance on the beach leaves nothing to be desired, there is simply everything, WiFi was also very good!

Hotel was perfect, just the sea at this side of the island seems to be choppier than the western side, at least during our stay in late Feb early March.

Hotel is looks like better then photos. Pool rooms beach clean and very nice.personal is very very nice we were so happy to stay there. Just a note they must make some activities for weekend in the evening at hotel.

Amazing location right in Chaweng beach. Close to Library, Ark and Central. Room was comfortable and clean. Nice breakfast. Everything as expected.

The hotel was at the beautiful beach and it has a great swimming pool. The room was very nice, comfortable beds and in the bathroom there was a shower and a tub. Although the street is very busy, the rooms are located in the inner side of the hotel, therefore no noise can be heard. Every day you get fresh drinking water in the room. A lot of things for breakfast, even popcorn :) The staff are very helpful and super nice. Especially at the hotel restaurant.

Staff at the pool area doesn't do anything to prevent guests occupying several sunbeds, only using them for 1 hour during the day. The seating area of the restaurant could be kept cleaner.

The location probably doesn't get any better. Great breakfast and the bathrooms of the rooms are very nice.

I stayed with my husband and 2.9 years old boy for one month in the Junior suite. We really felt at home and I enjoyed working online in the room with the great view or in the restaurant that is located on the beach. The staff and service were amazing. The food was tasty and our toddler liked it. Breakfast was included and had many choices, lunch, dinner and beverages were also tasty and not expensive. Even the minibar prices were fair. We also liked the location - in the center of the island and close to Central Samui mall, which our son really enjoyed, as it has playgrounds and a nice market. You do hear the music from the parties sometimes, which we like, but maybe is not for everyone. The beach was good and clean. We would like to come back again!

I wouldn’t choose Chaweng beach again as it was too busy for my preference.

The staff is amazing. We enjoyed the pool, beach and peaceful atmosphere off the very busy street. Really, the rooms were comfortable enough but the staff made it special. We had an incredible inconsiderate guest next door. The staff made sure to offer us options to resolve being next to a loud, late night drunk. It was greatly appreciated.

1, Even though the hotel has confirmed our request for an extra bed (we were a family of 2 adults and 1 kid), upon arrival it was not there, and they could not get one until the second night. To compensate, they upgraded us to a room on the first floor - not sure why it was an upgrade, the room was even a bit smaller than the original one. 2, The rooms are very small in general, so we had to shuffle which suitcase is open when, and there's zero shelfspace basically to unpack to. 3, The AC unit caused some irritation in us, coughing and allergic symptoms, and when I looked into it, it was dirty, probably not cleaned recently. Running the AC at night meant cold, but we were coughing, or turning it off, and sweating. Which was a bit inconvenient. 4, The weirdest part was that upon checkout they claimed there's one teaspoon missing from the room, and charged us 50 baht (1.5 dollars) for it. We never got the third spoon, never stole a spoon, this was just surreal and annoying.

Amazing location, close to everything, great combination of a sandy beach and pool, great atmosphere, good food at the restaurant, nice breakfast, not too crowded and relatively silent at night. We had a cooking class with the chef of the restaurant and enjoyed it a lot. The staff was very kind and polite, attentive.

The rooms were really nice and the best bathrooms we’ve had on our thailand trip. The staff are super nice and accommodating. We loved the hotel grounds lit up at night.

Honestly cannot find a fault!

I have visited Koh Samui so many times, and I cannot believe Ive never stayed at Baan Resort until this trip. The hotel is genuinely one of the best Ive stayed in at Koh Samui (Ive stayed in many). The hotel is ideally located, walking distance to bars, shops etc, but enough distance away to avoid the loud music etc. The grounds are extremely peaceful, with birds happily tweeting away. Rooms are a good size, and importantly very clean. Pool / restaurant area is practically on the beach with some amazing views. Every staff member I interacted with were very friendly. I will definitely stay here again. Seriously if you want a nice hotel, at a reasonable price, this is the place!

This is a little gem of a resort. We requested 2 adjoining rooms and this was done for us, so we had loads of space as a family. The staff are really brilliant and are just permanently smiling. The location is brilliant on Chaweng beach, with probably the best actual beach in front of the hotel - nice and wide and very clean with no rocks. The location is also walking distance to the main restaurants and busier part of Chaweng. The pool area and restaurant are also great to round out the package.
