Couple of things that didn't go well. As soon as we walked into the room I noticed the table surfaces had stain marks from the previous guests cup and glasses. In the bathroom the soap tray had used soap from the previous guests. We were a party of three in the room, but on arrival only two complimentary water bottles were provided and also only two large bath towels. The organisation in breakfast restaurant is a complete chaos, nobody is checking/receiving the guests the area is way too small for the number of guests. Everyone going for breakfast after 8.30am is left waiting to find a table to sit down. The layout is outdate and there is massive bottleneck at the egg station.

99% of the clients are Russians. The whole Laguna area is like a mini Russia. Not necessarily a bad thing but it was not what we expected.

Good location. Proximity to the golf course and a short drive to other facilities, bars , food options. Shuttle bus to move around the Laguna area.Decent breakfast spread. Direct access to the beach. Room cleanliness was good.

Just the usual hotel food prices, but overall nothing to complain about.

As a family of 4 we loved the two bed villas, and the bedrooms are on the same lower ground floor. The living space is very large and kitchen is good. The roof top pool is a bonus, and our kids (8&5) loved the pool with slide, water play and the beach with shallow clear seas in February. Breakfast had a very good selection. Some service was slow at meal times but not terrible, we were there in peak season though so to be expected. Weirdly it did not feel too crowded though.

The breakfast was a little disappointing as the halal food was not labelled and even the breakfast chef seemed clueless.

The drinks were well prepared and there were lactose free alternatives. Evening buffet was excellency but pricey. Halal meat in abundance. Kind and friendly Brazilian chef. Wonderful reception staff.

Definitely not worth the price and not 5*, I would rate it 4 star. The hotel lacks amenities for kids, the kids club is extremely small and extremely dirty with no guided activities like other 5 star resorts, broken toys and too many mosquitoes. The chicken feeding was a nice and enjoyable activity for the kids and the staff was super helpful and kind. The splash area wasnt working for 2-3 hours one day and needed fixing, the team did come and eventually fix the problem with the area where the fountains are had dead insects and broken tiles. Not the safest. Housekeeping was poor, there were days where we questioned whether the room was actually cleaned or not. Our pillows smelled horrible, probably not washed or changed between uses. The breakfast options were also limited for someone who doesnt eat pork, maybe they should consider dividing sections by the type of meat. Generally staff was super helpful and nice but the hotel really needs to do better to be considered 5*.

The location was superb, Laguna area is absolutely beautiful with a local night market, lots of restaurants on walking distance, really fun city vibe to the otherwise relaxing area.

The ocean front room on booking.com is misleading. We were given a partial ocean view room on 3rd floor. Felt duped!! Apparently many guests have complained before and nothing was done to change the picture. I booked the room only because it said ocean front and showed a misleading picture. Otherwise won’t have paid that rate. Far away from town.

Our Club room decor was very tired and decidedly grubby looking in places. Net curtains and lampshades, in particular, had seen better days. Drinks' hour for club room residents was disappointing in that there were no canapes served - just a few nuts and crisps.

Main entrance areas were well kept and lovely. Great access to the beach. Nice to be able to walk round the grounds and see lounger beds everywhere so that areas rarely felt busy. We enjoyed the included afternoon tea.

The rooms are very run down . The worst bit the rooms don'l have any facility for drying beach closes - people who know, bring their own portable drying racks

The best thing about Dusit is it's beach. It's probaly the best spot along the entire bangtao beach and it is reserved for hotel guests only. The hotel also has number of restaraunts and food in two of them, La Trattoria and Benjarong, is exceptional

They offer thai boxing classes for kids at the kids club, did this for my 6 year old, basically it is the pool life guards who do it and they were not really good at instructing, so i dont suggest this.

An ideal place for a holiday with kids, we go here every year, as the beach is right next to the pool and clean and safe,the staff are very helpful and always smiling, even though there was construction at the property it did not bother us. Easy access to local markets/restaurants from the property. The food in the hotel is excellent... and they are happy to help even if there is an ask for variations. The pool has a water slide and this keeps my son entertained
