Things to be aware of - 1. there are a lot of steep steps to get to most of the rooms. 2. As the pool is open to outside visitors, it could get noisy and busy. Often, we didn't have a place to sit in the shade. There is always music during the day. It's ok, just something one should be aware of if you are looking for some quiet time. 3. We reserved 2 rooms, but room A29 was so far and took a lot of steps to get to, and also, in contrast to room A5, it was with really basic and plain furniture :( .

The steps down to the beach (or rather back up) are a killer, especially in the heat (mid 30s every day during our stay). Depending on your bungalow you may also have a fair amount of steps up & down to the road & back too. These can be a killer in the heat too but are by no means a deal breaker.

Staff extremely friendly & helpful. Rooms are clean, we had two bungalows with amazing sea views whilst still feeling part of the jungle. Bear in mind you are in the jungle so expect some ants (mainly on the balconies) & geckos. The noises of the jungle take some adjusting to but after a few days become the norm.

The guy at the reception is a bit random, flexible like steel and mostly doesn't understand what people want from him. The rest of the staff is absolutely great!

Everything was perfect. The staff is outstanding! We love High Life and would always always always go again! The view is just fantastic and the restaurant, room service and facilities are just great!

Bad smell in whole bungalow from toilet, probably problems with sewerage. Older furniture, only thai TV channels, no smart TV.

1. Amazing restaurant with delicious various meals to offer. Delicious thai cousine but if also homemade pizza, burger, many salads, great cappuccino, smoothies, bowls. And the stuff was the most generous too! Special thanks to all who are working there, especially in the bar & restaurant! 2. Beautiful beach with possiblity of massages there 3. Resort pool

There were too many steps to get to some rooms. Especially for older people and children not suitable. The reception staff refused to swap the room for my 75years old mother. This was not great and it was difficult for her to go to her room every day.

We loved the view and the bar & restaurant staff was amazing.

Imo best spot on the beach! Most bungalows have a nice sea view. Staff was very attentive and friendly and breakfast/ food was delicious! Can definitely recommend

Amazing accommodation on Koh Phangan. The beach is only few steps away and after driving around the island we can say that Haad Yao is the best beach. Beautiful sunsets and even snorkeling opportunities there. We definitely recommend staying in garden bungalow and even renting scooter with guys in front of reception.

Nothing major, some of it looks a bit tired but not enough to put us off returning next year

We loved our visit to highlife bungalows, perfect location for us, we did have a car for exploring but spent quite a few days just walking down the steps onto the beach which was beautiful, always hardly anyone else there. The pool area was fine, always clean. The restaurant served good food and was a decent price, as were the drinks, it’s always going to be a bit more expensive on site but was still very reasonably priced. Staff were excellent always friendly with us, greeted with a smile.

The rooms are a little tired, but the views and wonderful staff make up for that.

The staff absolutely make this place, they are incredibly helpful and warm. The restaurant is also excellent, with a great selection of dishes and delicious cocktails.The views are also stunning! It's an easy walk down to the beach.

It’s a wonderful pool and surrounding seating areas, but non residents can come and use them. Our main problem was that they are selfish, inconsiderate and noisy.

Fab location, wonderful views from the pool and restaurant. Comfortable accommodation. Staff very helpful. Restaurant food and drink is very good. Lovely beach is accessible by stairs and steps. We had a very private terrace.

Wonderful place with amazing and helpful staff! Great bungalow located in a lovely private garden, we felt like it was our little private jungle :) Delicious food in a hotel restaurant with good prices. Bike rental in the hotel , I can really recommend it! Amazing view from the restaurant and from the swimming pool. The Haad Yao beach is stunning! White sand, clear water, you can swim whenever you want- there are almost no tides! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Big pillows. No breakfast included. Not that many restaurants on walking distance. No problem if you rent a scooter.

Wonderful view from our room!(Paid extra). Quiet and relaxing. Near beach. Friendly staff. We even had a cat included!
