Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

This wasn’t an issue for us as we even rented a car through them, but like everything else on this island, a car/bike is definitely recommended.
Lovely private house where the owner and managers were extremely welcoming and helpful! They accommodated to all our requests, so much so that we even extended our stay here. Beautiful area away from the main road, surrounded by trees but only few minutes drive from anything you need! Nice bedding, pillows and decent shower and kitchen too.

It’s surrounded by palm trees and nature, very secluded which is nice with a fenced yard! The house is spacious and got all the kitchen equipment. The owner is very helpful. Overal it was a lovely stay!

Do note that you essentially need a motorbike to get to the house comfortably, especially at night (as the road to it is not really lit). There are not many restaurants or shops nearby. There is no washing machine for laundry in the house (yet?), which would be a nice addition.
The location is very peaceful and overall not too far from Thong Sala. The owner was very communicative and responsive -- no issue checking in and out at all. We were even allowed to check in an hour early, which was very nice of them. They also provided a good amount of local snacks and several bottles of water. Massive TV with Netflix etc for those rainy nights in. There are motorbike helmets available in the house but they are quite old and dusty/rusty -- but better than nothing, if you need extra. The AC works well, both in living room and in the bedroom. The bed is comfortable. The kitchen is quite well equipped, even though we didn't really use it. Good shower pressure and warm water available. The place was very clean. It was also very good value for the money for us, as it was offered with a large promotional discount, due to being newly on the market.

Only slight negative would be that the second room wasn't made up but I had told them I'd be staying alone. Had the room been made up I may have asked somebody to stay with me to lower the cost per person. That's most likely my fault for not requesting it however.
Was a very nice, clean house with a huge TV that had Netflix and other streaming apps. I normally stay in hostels and saw this at a special price (maybe because it's newly listed and I was booking for the same day) so this felt amazing. The location is close enough to places to not be annoying but far out enough to not hear a thing, surrounding the property is jungle! I won't say how much I paid becauae I'm sure it's not the normal price but I would have been happy paying a lot more.

everything was perfect
Amazing value for money! Stayed only by myself in this house surrounded by palm trees. Very quiet location and super central at the same time (literally less than a minute by scooter to the main road with cafes and restaurants). I had such a good stay in there! And Jamaica (neighbors dog) was welcoming me every time i came back :)
