Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. United KingdomThe beach has sharp coral sand. They do sell some slip on beach shoes in the shop & you need to wear them or you will hurt your feet !
Very friendly staff particularly in the restaurant where the food was excellent

ThailandTaxi rides 400 or 500 baht per journey, short or longer rides are pretty expensive compared to other islands. Motorcycle rental recommended at 300 bht daily.

GermanyHowever the overall facilities require an update and the management should pay more attention to detail and the performance of the team The breakfast is not good (choice even of fruits is limited and everyday the same) and the coffee machine terrible. The beautiful pool area is getting run down. Tiles are missing with sharp edges and the sunbed mattresses are really old. Could because beautiful spot but it’s simply not maintained well
We have been the 3rd time in Sai Deng, because we luv the location and the rooms are still nice ( and of good standard for KoTao)

United Arab EmiratesPeople have mentioned the stairs. They weren't too bad at all. Certainly wouldn't put me off. However the food in the restaurant really needs improvement. It was shocking.. The pizza inedible. Thai dishes were either very spicy (for context I lived in Thailand for 5years and am. Used to spice) or bland or oily. Also the insects. We had several cockroavhes and thousands of ants. Rooms should have a spray supplied to deal with them. I didn't sleep too well as I was worried cockroavhes would crawl on us after finding 2 on the bed.
A really stunning location. Rooms are lovely. A few reviews mentioned breakfast we found it fine. It's a typical Thai hotel breakfast. Our aircon broke and we were upgraded. The location is simply stunning. Snorkeling decent. Sadly no baby sharks.

PolandThe location of the hotel is beautiful but also little bit difficult. The hotel offers shuttles to the pier and back which was helpful but not very flexible so we had to rely heavily on taxis as didn’t want to risk an accident on the bike. The restaurant could definitely do better, the food was at best mediocre and we preferred to eat in the city.
Beautiful location with an amazing view and beach. The snorkelling on the beach was absolutely amazing. Nice villas and facilities, helpful staff. Overall would recommend.

United KingdomLiterally nothing - it was a fantastic stay.
Absolutely stunning location and rooms, loved our stay here. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms are stunning although it would have been good to have some fly wire doors to keep mozzies out and be able to leave all the windows and doors open as the view is to die for. Favourite part was location and sharks off the beach. Dive school next door were exceptional.

NetherlandsWellness services such as massage were very pricy. The breakfast location was very lovely, but the food was average.
It was a very cool remote location. The bed was comfortable, there was a nice shower and a nice view. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomBeach and sea are the main attraction. One end of beach had thick scum of litter in the water. Beach uncared for. Wooden decking area had not been swept in days. Overall shabby tired decor. Sad.
Location is potentially fantastic

FinlandRoom service was delivered takeaway style in a plastic bag with takeaway containers and plastic spoons. For this standard of hotel I would have expected a proper tray with plates and real cutlery. If we had known this, we would have had dinner at the restaurant. The massage closes already at 4 pm so no possibility for an evening massage! Free shuttle to the town has odd timings and the free shuttle to the pier was not adjusted to the ferry departure and we had to insist on getting it. (Ferry leaving at 5pm and closest shuttle was at 2pm) Breakfast dishes were usually empty by 9.30 and not always replenished, same for glasses and cups. After a long day outside we got back at 10pm and found 1 huge cockroach running in the room and 2 scorpions (1 on the floor and 1 in bed). The cocktails could be using fresh fruit as we are in Thailand but were made on canned juice.
Great location for staying on the beach and snorkling. Best snorkling on the island! (Baby sharks constantly swimming around the beach) Snorkles cost 100/day. Free kayak rental! Such a nice activity in example to kayak to shark island and snorkle there! Nice white sand beach. Great service by staff. No deposit, no extra charge on paying with card. There was a free pickup at the ferry pier. Beautiful beach restaurant with very cozy seating options, overlooking the sea. We had a large terrace with a bench (just a hammock was missing). The room was spacious and had everything we needed (bathrobes, shampoo conditioner lotion soap, full minibar incl snacks and spirits, towels replenished daily.) There is plenty of stairs but the staff help with the luggage.

United KingdomWould have loved loungers on our balcony, such a big balcony with tiny little chairs. Also the tea and coffee in room facilities were non existent no coffee machine or any tea. Our TV didn’t tune at all and absolutely no smart TV - fine for us as we had other means of entertainment. The lighting was a bit patchy at times in the night around the resort I tripped a few times and scraped my knees. The resort upkeep is minimal, don’t get me wrong you don’t need much more it’s bliss but there are very tired areas! It’s needs a good injection of money and this place would be a 10/10 world class resort! There’s an old now out of use water slide just lying around and broken things just left in guest areas. A but scruffier thank you like to see. The restaurant was not good, breakfast is bearable but the actual menu was not for us. We love Thai food so ordered from that initially but things weren’t done well or were unbearably spicy, then we tried more western dishes that were very poor!
The resort is out of the way and a total escape from the world. The beach is perfect, clean and sun washed all day. You can paddled a few feet out and see reef sharks, all sorts of tropical fish and some people saw turtles. The resort itself built on a little limb of the island it’s like an island all of its own! The room was beautiful we had A7 a stand-alone single floor suite. It was breathtaking. Peaceful on another level! It was just bliss! The pool was beautiful too, the perfect evening spot, wish it stayed open a bit later, closes at 7pm. The pool bar team were both fantastic great bar men, fun and great drinks! Just the most beautiful place! Definitely for the fit and adventurous type it’s not light work getting around an incredibly hilly area! Not for the faint of heart.

United Kingdom- Some rooms are quite a walk, if you have mobility issues this may not be a good hotel for you - charged to rent snorkel equipment - only one member of staff at the spa - Have more times for the shuttle - Poor breakfast choice
- amazing views from the room - shuttle provided by the hotel however you have to pay for this and I feel it should be free especially as it coincides with them picking up guests from the pier!!

Austriathe tiles of the infinity pool seem old and there are a few broken ones which are sharp. watch out I cut my foot at one - that wasn't nice. location: it is a bit far of the center. but there is a shuttle a few times a day to go to the center or you cn rent motorbikes at the reception and get them delivered to the resort.
happy hour at the pool bar from 4pm until 6pm everyday. 150baht for every cocktail. very nice barkeeper who let's you choose the music he is playing and you can have a chat. beaches are superb. at the hotel beach baby sharks come really near to the shore. the other side is perfect for snorkeling. you can rent canoes for free and paddle to shark island. can totally recommend.

United KingdomJust a heads up If you are not fit do not go to this hotel. Nothing is flat Nothing is easy access and you cannot get anywhere with out stairs and plenty of them.
The location is outstanding the views are to die for. The pool bar staff were amazing 2 young men who couldn’t do enough for you. All the staff were friendly but in the restaurant it was slow and staff were unsure of their jobs. We were told to take the beach route to breakfast … it needs work when tide is in you take a gauntlet. There were empty bags and rubble to the platform we needed to get to for our room. Bed was very comfy but felt the resort looked tired.

United States of AmericaThe diving spot was not accessible due to garbage that was washed ashore after the monsoon. There was a ugly garbage pile aside the beach. Later on restaurant staff started cleaning off. This has to improve, i expect people cleaning the beach every morning. It´s a small beach and the effort is worth considering the beauty of nature they have. Care for it!
At first: AMAZING Poolbar Staff! Give those men a Medal! The drinks were made with proper trademark spirits and the bar manager made classic and custom cocktails taylored to our taste. Prices during happy hour were more than fair. Thank you for that great service. All in All, this was our best hotel so far. It is located on a lonely tip of the island with direct access to Haad Sai Daeng beach which is almost free of tourists and boats. A couple of days after the monsoon, water became clear and and sparkly. We snorkled with colourful fishes, sharks and turtles. Our room was on the hilltop with great view from the bed and balkony. Clean and spacious but windy for sure. The restaurant is directly located on the beach, providing a great glance during breaky and a cosily illuminated atmosphere in the restaurants chill zone in the evenings. The curries were fantastic and drinks are well made with fair prices. At the massage studio "Infinity" we had the most sophisticated massage in our whole Thai experience. They were friendly and spots were cleaned and prepared tidily. Staff was friendly and endeavored always. We really enjoyed being their and will most probably return one day.

United States of AmericaSome of the room walls need to be touched up; no mosquito racket in room or at open air restaurant; some areas have a run down feeling; in room very little options to hang dry clothes; limited options in room/on patio for hanging wet clothes; some cockroaches in room; that there was a 100 baht fee to use fins - should come with mask; no fan in room; no screens for doors to terrace - unable to hear ocean and feel breezes at night; we stayed for a week and still had to pay for snorkel masks and fins each day - would have appreciated a ‘deal’ such as for every 3 days you stay, you get a free day of snorkeling gear
All staff were so kind and helpful; has 2 private beaches; has 4 different areas for snorkeling: breakfast 7:15-10 at restaurant on the beach - fresh fruit, breads, omelette station, yogurt, cereals, many savory choices; hotel provides a free shuttle at specific times each day; free truck shuttle into town 3 times each day: 11:30, 1:00, 2:00; free truck shuttle from Mae Haad pier to resort: 11:40, 1:15; at other times a taxi costs 400 baht; bathroom has rock/pebble floor - feels like a massage; towels were soft and large; room fridge stocked with cold water, soda, sparkling water and alcohol - each item has a price; bed has mosquito netting; floor to almost ceiling windows/door; shower has great pressure and plenty of hot water; outside terrace with view of ocean and 2 lounge chairs; 2 umbrellas in room; 2 bottles of free drinking water provided in room each day; bed is soft and comfortable; bed has 4 pillows; so very quiet - we stayed in A11 and there are 3 rooms in one building and we could not hear our neighbors; spa is quiet and clean with many choices available; enjoyed eating at open-air restaurant near beach; free kayaks, life jackets and lounge chair/umbrella; provides beach towels; snorkeling mask and fins available (100 baht for mask and 100 baht for fins)

AustraliaThey were really strict about not allowing access to your room until 2pm. They told us our room number at 10am when we arrived but were also told it was not ready yet. We actually checked the room from the front and could see that it had been serviced and was ready by 10.30am. No big problem but the front office staff were a bit grumpy. Everything and everyone else was perfect.
