Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Wi-Fi coverage could be better. If your room is far from the router, the connection can get quite unstable/slow. One could nitpick that interior design could be more stylish and cleaner (e.g. hide cables etc.).
Very good value for money. You have everything you need to stay in the heart of Istanbul during your trip. Friendly personnel, clean functional bathrooms, air conditioning, daily cleaning, water in the fridge, breakfasts etc. Excellent location - most of the key city sites are within 20 min walk.

The water in the shower was not draining well. There is only 1 bedside table for three beds. There was nothing in the minibar. Slippers are bad, wearing at all uncomfortable.
Good friendly staff. Good thing there was an elevator. Nearby within walking distance of attractions, metro station and restaurants.

Breakfast was somewhat limited although staff again really nice and helpful
Great central location with really helpful staff who would go out of their way to help. Aircon was a real bonus with the heat. Organised taxi back to airport and really efficient. We paid cash as no facility to pay with credit card which was no problem for us

No kettle in the room.The light is not above the table.Pastries tasted not so good.

A night music coming from a back hotel which is played outside and causes annoyance.
Good variety of food for breakfast, staff is helpful, the location is excellent, near shops and markets every thing within walking distance or short ride by public transport, room is clean and rightly equipped and cosy, very good value for money.

The room is little bit too small!!

My first 2 night were in a room that was probably occupied by a very heavy smoking couple before me. However, when I complained, they moved me to a much fresher room straightaway, where I spent my last 3 days happily.
I stayed at Maya Hotel for 5 nights in total. I liked everything about Maya Hotel. The location was ideal for me; easy walking distance to all my favourite locations: Grand Bazar, Aksaray, Kumpkapi, Fatih Mosque, Sultanahmet; all are within easy walking distance. I even walke to Eminonu (via Grand Bazar). Having said this, both Metro and Tram stations are less than 5 minutes walk. Staff was great, absolutely wonderful in fact. Everyone I approached responded extremely nicely. Rooms are nice and clean. Housekeeping ladies were always there to help. As you might know, Turks love to smoke so some rooms may smell of smoke; it's better to ask Hotel beforehand. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. I never had a better Breakfast in any 3 Star hotel before. Reception staff were extremely helpful. I give you an example; I am travelling in Turkey and had a spare large suitcase. I asked if it can be kept at the hotel for 10 days, they happily accepted. This was a massive favour to me as otherwise I had to carry it unnecessary wherever I was travelling. A BIG thank you to all staff. Finally, you can not go wrong with Maya Hotel with their prices at all. I did read some negative comments and all I can say is if you are after extreme luxury, there are 4 and 5 Star hotels around. I am staying again at Maya Hotel whenever I am travelling to Istanbul.

Room was all smoky, I had to open window for fresh air. And furniture is old, no kettle and tee cap in room, only water.

The hotel is not well maintained 0 maintenance the room and the lobby everything is old veeeeery old and small veeeery small the AC not working well the TV is small , you feel like the rooms of those old motels in road of somewhere the bath is small the hot water sometimes isn't that hot sometimes it s get hot suddenly The room since it s hot and small you re forced to open the window and then you get all the noise from outside you end up closing it Overall a bad experience and the price was high compared to the experience I will never ever get back to it even for a free stay the owners must close it a d renovate it.
Location: it s well located at lalleli near vezenciler metro station and istanbul university tram station , near fatih so you can do the historical tourist attractions without being near them where it s crowdy Personal : the second good thing is the staff they re at your service at breakfast they re doing their job and making sure everything is good.

1-The breakfast was varied but none tasted good!! Some food and fruits were old and rotten, the breakfast staff were very unpleasant so that you had to sit there as they were allowed. 2- The shower was very small and the water had unstable pressure so it increased and decreased the water pressure so it was very hot or very cold. 3 - no sound insulation when you hear everything from outside or when someone walks in the corridor or when the staff talk to each other early in the morning. 4- You are never welcome there and you don't see a smile back!!! 5- Old bed and furniture and only light and sloppy cleaning gets the room.
Almost no advantages, I never recommend this type of hotel!!! I don't know if you can call it a really Hotel!
