I didn’t mind, though the walkway to check in / get to other rooms is along the room windows so if your curtains are open everyone can see in easily . AC unit works great but is a teeny bit loud if you’re a light sleeper.

I loved the stay. Check in was seamless. The room was very cozy. The style created an oasis of comfort. Bathroom was lovely, clean, and toiletries were provided. Having snacks and drinks for breakfast was a wonderful addition. I communicated briefly during my stay with the host and it was professional and prompt.

I booked before knowing they did not serve the hot breakfast so it was somewhat misleading as a "bed and breakfast" location. I booked well in-advance of 30 days and received a separate email a few days before my stay that they were no longer serving breakfast. I was disappointed because I enjoy the comfort of a nice community breakfast to get the day started. Albeit, they did provide fruit, juice, organic milk, cereal, yogurt and some random snacks during my 3 day stay, it was not replenished. However, I believe if I requested additional provisions, the owners would have obliged. The television was small (maybe 36 inch diagonal) and unfortunately, I was unable to get the television to operate at all. There were no instructions on how to operate their TV equipment, nor did I inquire since it was of no importance to me. There really is no view from the room windows. At least 3 of the 4 rentals have windows facing southeast towards the parking area. There is an electrical service source adjacent to the parking lot which may be an eyesore to some folks, but I think the small, grassed yard with the trees, barbecue and table with an umbrella make it easy enough to overlook.

Very clean and well appointed southwestern styled rental. There are only 4 rentals and they are all at ground level which makes it easy to enter and exit. Each unit has their own outdoor Adirondack style chair next to the entry of their respective unit. The flowering cactus pots on the outside of the rooms gave a nice homey feel. Each of the plants are meticulously maintained. The unit I rented was unit #3 and it has thoughtful matching pine furniture with a large window with a sheer veiled curtain and with the additional blackout curtains. Throughout the rental there were local art paintings which was a great touch to accent the bedroom and bathroom areas. There is a hutch which houses your typical necessities like refrig, microwave and extra storage. There was a small table with two chairs and a comfortable love seat in front of the bed. The bathroom was large with nice accessories - tissue, toothbrushes, soap bars, shampoo, body wash, plenty of white, clean towels and very good lighting except in the shower. The shower stall did not have its own light and received only filtered light thru the shower curtain. The hot water was almost immediate and may have had a water filter since it did not feel hard on the skin. The wifi worked sufficiently for accessing news and weather, but I cannot speak for any streaming services since they were not accessed. There is a nice community room between the restaurant and rental units with other necessities like ice, glasses, wine glasses, sink and other home gadgets at your disposal. It, too, was well appointed and well maintained. As mentioned, there is a great restaurant directly on the other side of the rental units with a great vibe and great menu. I would recommend to get to the restaurant early because it is a very popular local restaurant. The rental came with a menu for the restaurant to easily order in, but I preferred to simply take the easy walk thru the community room and go into the restaurant.

Well, Artesia isn't a top destination though it does have more of interest than one might expect, such as the library with the Peter Hurd mural.

It was such a pleasure to be welcomed by Megan in person in an age of check-ins by text message! The room had lots of character as well as all the amenities we could ask for. The bed was very comfortable. We were fine with the continental-breakfast supplies in the room though I guess that some guests might have wanted a more substantial breakfast. The Adobe Rose restaurant next door is deservedly very popular - good cooking and very reasonable prices. Recommended!
