The Wi-Fi situation was super tricky and we never actually found out how to operate the TV. After about 45 minutes playing with it, we eventually figured out the Wi-Fi, with help from the employee at the front desk. The room had a weird smell, which my wife thought was marijuana, but I think it was just their cleaning products or the age of the hotel. If I could make a small recommendation to the hotel owners, I would put some towel hooks on the walls in the bathroom, so that different customers could hang their towels individually.

Great property right off the freeway with a great restaurant attached. We have stopped there several times to eat, but this was our first time staying the night. The staff was very friendly, and the location was pretty quiet, not to mention having great views of the surrounding hills.

This was maybe my 4th time staying here and it’s the 3rd time they didn’t offer any vegetarian hot breakfast items - everything was mixed with me for some reason. I really wish they would stop doing that. Please keep the potatoes separate from everything else so that vegetarians and vegans can have something hot for breakfast.

Ashland has a cute downtown not far from this hotel. The price is great for what you get. I’m very particular about the cleanliness of hotels and I’ve never been uncomfortable here (I still do my standard disinfecting though).

No cooked eggs offered for breakfast. Seemed odd to have muffins/rolls, sausages and waffles and no eggs to go with it. More variety of muffins or breads to toast and options like butter, peanut butter or jelly to put on top would be excellent.

The beds were SO comfortable and the extra pillows made me not want to get out of bed! Great set up with two sinks, one in the bathroom and one outside.

My complaint would be the price. It was the same price as a luxury hotel in a major city. The building and layout is almost like a travel lodge and it seems pretty old. So I wasn't impressed with the cost. It fulfilled our need for a quick place to stay on the drive but I don't get the price. I expected something much nicer. I'm not at the next distinction which is in Los Angeles and it's much nicer for much less. Not sure why the greed on the coat. Seems like the greed level could be relaxed a little. Sure make a big profit but take a little chill on the price.

    Glad there was a pool.

Placed in room that was below floor level. Did not seem like hotel was that full, unsure why we got a room that did not face the courtyard.

Great grounds and places to walk.

While rooms are always kept very clean, they could use new flooring & doors are a bit worn.

Love the foliage, magestic Oaks, well kept grounds, spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, comfy beds, & real coffee pots in the rooms. Breakfast is above average with comfortably large eating & mingling areas. The art, lamps, seating & decor in common areas are whimsical & inviting. Oh & pets are welcomed..

It seems that either the economy and/or Covid have taken their toll on the hotel. To get to the upstairs rooms with bags, you have to walk or drive clear to the other side of the hotel to get an elevator. The ice machine is way on the other side of the hotel from the rooms and down the hall from the front desk. Not very convenient, either one. There was only one person at the front desk for all business. The hotel seems a bit run down over the years-needs some upgrading/redecorating. It's such a great place. I hope they are able to make improvements.

I have always liked the Ashland Hills. It used to be such a great place to stay with the pool, proximity to Ashland, free parking, etc. The rooms are large with comfortable beds. The breakfast was a welcome addition. The breakfast sandwich was very good.

Great place, in a good location, near hwy 5. They allow dogs, which is a plus. The grounds are nice, and the room is comfortable, with an ample sized bathroom. Has a nice feel to it…..more like a hotel than motel.
