The bedroom carpet was a bit worn. But other than that everything was great!

I had a lovely kitchenette. The bed was comfortable, and the rooms were clean. No loud noise at night and I felt safe with the locking gates. The beach is just down the block. There were many great cafes and restaurants near by.

Check in process was smooth. Locked gates and lighting surrounding the building add a nice security feature. Parking was close and convenient. We stayed on the ground floor, so it was reasonably easy to roll our luggage through the property. There isn't a lot of space to keep large suitcases in the room, at least ours was a bit crowded. There was a desk, a dresser, a renovated bathroom, functional tv, remote controlled ceiling fan over each bed, good lighting options, fully carpeted floor except tile in the bathroom. We had no issues with noise. We slept well and found the beds comfortable. Pool is the centerpiece with rooms surrounding. We swam in the pool (in December) and it was fine, too cool in the shade, but kids had fun and the availability of beach towels and loungers was great. Walking distance to the Pacific shore boardwalk and plenty of restaurants. A short drive to Sea World. Great location and very reasonable price.

The water in the shower never got hot, but at best it was a luke warm shower, which felt chilly since we were there at a time when it was mildly cold and damp outside. The front desk didn't seem to be staffed at all times, as we had to call upon arrival, but they did show up before the phone finished ringing. And in fairness, they did call us that day to ask what time we thought we were coming, which was nice, given we were going to be there moreso in the evening. Then, when I went to check out, no one was there, although they showed up a few minutes later.

Great location! Lots of great restaurants within walking distance and the walk to the beach is just a few short minutes. The room was clean and the area was quiet, which I was surprised by, so it was perfect for our needs as a place to rest our heads at night. We weren't really looking for any onsite amenities, but there is a pool and a hot tub. I would definitely stay again.

The only drawback is that the rooms are not insulated very well and i could hear the occupants on both sides and above ....walking, snoring, talking, and their tv.

Nothing was bad but overall the property was a bit worn down. Odd how many unrepaired items and how little staff on site (1 of two entry gates out of order).

Outstanding location in general (Pacific Beach) and less than a mile from family which was purpose of trip.

None of these details would deter me from staying again - overall it was a great stay. The front gate was in process of repair, some outlets were worn out, I had to call to find out about parking. Shower water temp was decently warm not hot. For the price and location it was a total bargain. I would definitely stay again.

Quieter than I expected even though near to the beach, free parking limited availability (easy in winter, might be trickier in the summer), super friendly front staff, easy check in/out, near to food, groceries, CVS. Modern finishes in room/bathroom, everything was clean and well supplied. I stayed in January so I didn't use the pool or spend a ton of time at the beach, but the pool was clean and the pool furniture new. If you want an affordable spot right near the beach, Beach Haven is a great option.

The only concern was we requested the possibility of a 3:00 - 4:00 check in an email, which was responded with "Robert, Yes, that is ok." We were surprised to arrive and told there was a $ 30.00 early check in fee. We paid it, since we were already there.

Room 103. The pull out sofa was a little uncomfortable, but I slept fine.

Couch bed was so uncomfortable we ended just sleeping on the couch with out the cold out. The bed was not great either. The location and cleanliness are worth it though. It’s prefect for walking to restaurants and the beach. If you aren’t picky this is the best value! Staff was very helpful too!

The only thing was the bath/shower … the plug didn’t work if you wanted to have a bath, and when you changed over from bath tap to shower, quite a bit of water still leaked from bath tap, so the shower wasn’t great!!!

Parking is in a back alley and feels a little sketchy. You can hear people coming and going around the rooms (doesn’t feel very private)

Ice machine was broken the entire time we were there. Couple of slightly sketchy people on the streets around the hotel that had us worrying about how safe our car would be, but it was fine. Lot nicer than downtown when we went there!

Great value hotel, good sized room with comfy bed. The Pacific ocean was right at the end of the road which was lovely, went swimming every day and strolling on the beach. Pacific Beach is a good neighbourhood with lots of bars and restaurants and not too bad a drive into San Diego itself. Easy drive up to La Jolla to see the seals and sealions (and the rich folk!)

The walls are paper thin, so we heard all the street noise and other guests. Thankfully it wasn't too bad during sleeping hours. The bathroom sink drained very slowly. The refrigerator didn't really get cold.

The location is great! Walking distance to Pacific Beach shops and restaurants, crystal pier, and the beach. Just a short ride down the road to Belmont Park and Mission Beach. Very accessible to all San Diego has to offer. The beds are extremely comfortable! We got some of the best sleep. Blackout shades or curtains would help. Parking is included.
