Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

room was a connecting room, it felt like we had roommates, because we heard everything from the other room. The walls are thin everywhere in the US, so it’s kind of common, but for this price a non-connecting is expectable
location is pretty good, so is the breakfast. staff is really nice too

Really nice hotel, close to the beech and easy walk to the State street. Rooms are large, nice, clean. Stuff was friendly. Breakfast is great with lot of options. Nothing to fault here.

Would love to have a couple glass cups, but plastic works too.
Location is great- easy access by the ocean with a nice walking path and grassy picnic area nearby. Hearst Castle and Elephant Seals within 15 minutes. Having a patio was great as well.

Check in had some issues, and took a while to resolve, but sorted diligently. Pool was closed. Room smelled of bleach or really strong cleaning products.
Really basic breakfast done reasonably well.

Upon check in, the room I was given was already occupied by someone else. Kind of a mix up, considering I arrived after 10pm. The room I did receive was nice, clean, but noisy in the morning. Right next to the staff cleaning closet (8am start) and the laundry room. It was nice hearing them get along, but it was pretty noisy. My refrigerator was not working, but I didn't need to really use it anyhow. No room service unless you request, but it was fine for me. Pool is kind of in the shade, in the center of the building, so don't go here if you intend the pool to be your focal. The beach was fine for me. Ample free parking was a plus as well, considering the parking time restrictions on the street. Please update the locks that you have on the inside of the doors, near the pool rooms. A chain doesn't give a lot of comfort.
The breakfast was honestly great. Many hotels in the area do not include breakfast. Long lines at many of the restaurants in the area made me happy that it was included. Eggs, cereal, coffee, fruits, breads, meat. The staff was friendly, and also gave some good recommendations for off the beaten path type restaurants. The location can't be beat. Really walkable to all the cute little shops, and the Warf. Lots of free parking! Cute little happy hour with cheese, wine and grapes! The room was clean, and the heater/AC was perfect. No issues.

The room had about 4 broken cosmetic things; the plantation shutters, the AC/Heating unit worked great but had duck tap underneath, the light switch in the bedroom did not work. Also, on the breakfast, there is room for improvement in regards to the coffee; maybe an automatic coffee machine that can do expresso, latte, frapuccino...
The location was absolutely amazing. Beach across the street, the pier and the marina within walking distance, restaurants galore. Clean, great team and service, and comfortable beds. The breakfast was fantastic.

A hot tub by the pool would be an awesome improvement. The pool heater was down which was disappointing. However, the vast majority of our stay was excellent and we plan to come back

Really would have been great to not have to request pack in play more than one time. I would prefer the music played in the breakfast area was not Oldies and was instead something interesting and less creepy.
Great location and friendly staff. Room was clean but did need to request a pack in play upon arrival after requesting in the booking and requesting a second time via text message. Very convenient that there are free EV chargers on site that work great and are available. Other EV drivers were generally not charger hogs which was nice. It was also nice that the breakfast included fixings so you could also make a lunch for on the go!!

Our TV did not work. I reported it and within 10 mins, we had someone come out and check it out. They replaced the TV within a few mins. Great customer service. Very impressed with Beachside Inn.
