Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Lack of eating venues around area
Eating facilities around accommodation very slim although walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf.Number of Deli around property able to get sandwiches Great public transport right outside accommodation. Rooms for three peoples very tight one bed and pull out sofa in small room. Manager very helpful after mix up with card rang me on a number of occasions kept rooms for us excellent service Suggest accommodation supply Microwave for clients to be able to buy food to heat up

Everything
The Buena Vista Motor Inn is a very comfortable motel situated in the nice Marina district. Of note, my wife and I had a seamless, wide room facing the rear side of the building, remarkably quiet. The motel staff was very helpful, all the time. The street and the surrounding area is definitely safe and an excellent opportunity for walking.

Nothing really, only thing missing was a bar and breakfast maybe.
Location was fantastic, right in the middle of where I needed to be, short walk to the beach and local amenities. Close to bus stops that will take you wherever you need to go. Particularly liked the roof top area where you can clearly see the Golden Gate Bridge. Also liked the back garden chill out area. Room was big and comfortable too.

I can not really complain about anything, but give an observation on the, for us, less good points. The hotel itself has no laundry but there is one just 1 block away. The garage is open (no gate) put still safe in my opinion.
Great location with everything within foot range. It has big comfortable rooms, is clean and offers free parking.

The shower wasn’t too good.
Location was excellent. It was safe and was close to the Waterfront. The accommodation was clean, comfy & the staff were great - very helpful. Also plenty of free parking.

Cracked bathroom tiles on floor that need replacing.

You can hear noise from the street. A/C started to leak or something during our stay. We informed they promised to look next day. There is parking , but not a lot spaces and narrow. Room doors are very heavy, it seems safe but very hard to open. Bathroom is cold.
Room was big but felt empty. Comfy bed. On upper floor there is small terrace where you can watch sunset and see part of golden gate bridge.

The elevator is a little old and the door closed very quickly so you had to get into the elevator very quickly to avoid hitting yourself. We sent several Amazon orders to the hotel and they charged us 50 dollars for that... In several hotels that I have stayed in and none of them have charged me for this, so I was not very happy with that.
The location is perfect, very easy to move from one place to another, the room was very comfortable and every day they cleaned our room. Very happy with all that.

The only thing that was bad was the tv… we had problems with getting a clear reception.
The property is conveniently located near the fisherman’s wharf and china town. Bus stops right outside the property. Free parking is what made us choose this location. Limited parking on premises but there is also on street parking available. We parked the van as soon as we got there and caught public transportation to go everywhere. We only moved the car when we checked out to leave. Great location.
