The slider window was covered with water spots so we couldn't see out of our room through the window very well. The screen was hard to open. The heater unit was noisy. Would have preferred to see a coffee kiosk downstairs. We used the bar to order some coffee in the afternoon. The water dispenser in the lobby was gone on the 2nd day.

We really liked the complimentary breakfast served downstairs in the dining room. The food was very good. A nice view from our room of the ocean. We liked the patio setup outside downstairs. Provides a nice place to sit and enjoy the ocean view. The room was comfortable for 2 people. Restaurants are within walking distance to the hotel. The valet employees were very nice and provided great service!

No free parking. While I had an "ocean view," (partial) it was also a view of the roof with its duct work (very ugly) and the dumpsters. My room was right by the freeway, so traffic noise was very loud. Also my room was by the housekeeping closet and that was loud as well.

The room was very comfortable. It was close to downtown and restaurants and still on the beach. The hotel was very dog friendly.

I would have chosen the north side of the building for a better view. The sliders were weathered so they needed to be opened to see out at the beautiful ocean view. (We visited in March.) The hotel is in a noisy location near the freeway and train, but I don't see how that can be avoided. It wasn't a problem at night for sleeping.

Loved that it was on the beach with a great walk way. The view was good. The room was comfortable and stylish with adequate amenities. The breakfast was fabulous with a caring wait staff. Free parking was convenient.

I booked my room a year in advance and was happy to read every room has balcony with ocean view. But that was very deceptive. Sure we had a balcony, with a view of the rooftop air conditioning units. If we looked right, it was the freeway and if we look left and stood on our toes we could see a glimpse of the ocean. The lower floors should not be the same price as the upper rooms. We didn’t even have balcony furniture because they know no one would want to sit out there.

Oh, we needed the sunshine, not the storming beyond our control. It would be great to have the water machine in the lobby where we could always fill the water bottle. The marketplace next to the reception had a relatively higher cost.

Despite the rain, we thoroughly enjoyed the location and this hotel service, including the complimentary breakfast. However, we could not walk along the beach promenade due to the unfavorable weather. We still considered this stay reasonably comfortable. I will come back again, unquestionably.

•The initial personnel at the front desk was only semi friendly •No reason given why room initially assigned on 4th floor then changed to 2nd floor with view of hotel roof equipment and noise. Literally, the initial key packet was ripped several times to destroy it, before preparing the and providing the new one for room 222 •Had to report TV/desk lamp/microwave/refrigerator not working due to circuit breaker issue •Ventilation system too drafty even with fan on low •The value was considered quite poor at $300/night

The gentleman at the reception desk was kind of blah. Didn’t seem to care if we were there or not.

View was great. Watched Elon Musk’s rocket launch from Vandenburg. Spectacular! Woke up to watch the surfers at Surfers Point both mornings.

We didn't have maid service except for one day, and that was a partial one at best. While we were in the room with our dog, we always put the sign on the door that we were relaxing. When we were not in our room, we removed the sign as we were at an all-day dog show. On the day they did do maid service, our bed was not made up, but towels changed out. They also left our balcony door wide open which was a bit unsettling entering the room that way.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Our sunset view was outstanding from our room's balcony as well as hearing the ocean.

The curtain broke trying to open. The kuerig coffee maker was nice but not quite as simple to operate as the one at home. Would get a room facing more towards ocean next time.

The room seem smaller than described and the hotel is pricey. The coffee and water station was often out. We stayed for 3 days. And over Christmas day. The staff were not consistent. When we checked in we got a very nice gentleman but the next two days the two ladies were not so friendly. They did not restock our coffee in our room after day one, or our cups which was very surprising given the cost of the hotel.

The location was great. And right on the beach and within a pedestrian area. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room was clean and the gym was well equipped.

The glass door in the room was not a good idea since it does not block light at night. WiFi was not very stable during evening time.
