Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaA little far to walk to town. But considering the value, I would stay there again, and highly recommend El Bonita to others.
A very good value. The room was clean and comfortable

United States of AmericaI have only one critique, and I almost hate to mention it. When I reserved, I asked for a late checkout, which was graciously confirmed by email. I also confirmed when I checked in. But it seems it wasn't communicated to the day shift because housekeeping and the front desk both contacted me to check out at the standard time. This was a very minor thing in an otherwise lovely stay.
Overall, I was very happy with my stay. The property is cute, rooms are updated enough, and staff was very friendly. Breakfast isn't top shelf, but had no problem with a croissant and fresh fruit.

United States of AmericaRooms were a bit dated but clean. The continental breakfast was not appealing and no place to sit for more than a couple of people.

United States of AmericaStaff are slovenly dressed and front desk staff are unfriendly. Shower fixture was broken as the shower door opens into it and knocked it off kilter, but work fine. All towels are outside the room.
Clean and tidy room. Good lighting outside and lots of hot water. Plenty of towels and soap. Cleaning crew is nice and friendly. We liked the fire outside the main entrance. It gave a nice and welcoming effect in the evening.

United States of AmericaNo ice machine available..it was broken, so had to go buy a bag. Having some on hand for guests would have been an nice alternative. Hot tub was lukewarm..a real disappointment.
Nicely appointed room, albeit small. Good to have a fridge & micro. Having wine glasses available, a nice touch. Comfortable bed! Easy parking in front of room.

United States of AmericaSomeone had thrown a large pile of cigarette butts outside our door to the lawn area. We told management, and someone promptly cleaned them up.
I spent my birthday at El Bonita, one of my favorite hotels in the wine country. Upon arriving, I was told they had upgraded me to a king bed instead of a queen. No charge! We enjoyed the hot tub that night, and the pool was luke warm, not cold like other hotels. The morning breakfast had everything you would want; coffee, juice, fresh fruits, cereal, delicious scones, and croissants. El Bonita is very affordable and a hidden gem if you plan on staying in St. Helena. You are a couple of blocks from Farmstead, an outstanding restaurant./

United States of AmericaNot enough bath towels and the coffee situation is not great, however if you bring your own pods and creamer, you are all set!
This is a little hidden gem in St. Helena that I don't think you can be disappointed with. While Napa proper seems to be the place to stay, its quite a journey to head back to if you are wine tasting more north. We loved our quick stay at El Bonita. The motel is older, but its super cute, comfy, and just so easy to access. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, the room was spacious and met all of our needs. Our room was great, even had a little outdoor patio. The room had a wet bar with mini fridge and Keurig coffee maker, which makes breakfast a breeze if you bring it with you. Honestly no complaints and will stay again.

United States of AmericaThere was a little wall damage by the bathtub in our room that needed repair. We could hear kids running around upstairs above our room.
The room was very well suited to our needs. Older decor and some wall damage in the bathroom but everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, there was direct outdoor access to a grassy area for our new puppy, WiFi was great, the local recommendation for dinner without a reservation at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch was AWESOME, and the provided breakfast was most welcome. We did not try the hot tub, sauna and pool (not enough time) but they looked very well kept and inviting.

United States of AmericaBright light shining through the windows if your room is facing the street. Front desk staff unengaging. Not friendly. Simply not the experience you want while traveling in a typically tourist destination. Feels just like they are doing you a favor by letting you stay there kind of thing.
