Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I have no complaints.
The service was friendly and bend-over backwards good. The owner let me use my room's bathroom immediately due to my urgency, rather than requiring check-in first. The room was exceptionally clean. Having a sofa, a queen-size bed, and a king-sized bed in the spacious room contributed to a truly exceptional stay.

Everything. I checked in at 9:00pm and the owner, himself, escorted me to my room, turned lights and TV on and had the WIFI password for me. He even had a small heater already on in the room, as it was exceptionally chilly! So entering the room it was nice and toasty! He also offered to carry my bag! Immaculate room and bath. Very good water pressure and plenty of hot water! Great Value!

Clean!!! AC worked great! Room was very nice. Beds were firm and comfortable! Shower was great!! The owner was very pleasant. Showed us our room and told us all we needed to know about it. Would recommend The Sutton Inn.

There as no closet space to hang clothes, nor an iron and ironing board in the room. The thermostat turned off with no motion in the room which was less than ideal at night when sleeping.
Chuck was friendly and welcoming and made checkin very easy. The room was clean and the bathroom was updated and very nice. The bed was comfortable and parking was adequate.

The Sutton Inn was fine. My main "problem" was transportation to the venue. I couldn't find an Uber/Lyft. There are taxi services but they seemed overwhelmed on the night I was there.
This was my first time in Elkton. I came here for a concert at the newly opened Elkton Music Hall (great place!) and found Sutton Inn online. It looked like the closest good hotel to the venue. This inn is really a motel but is very clean with well kept grounds and a quiet, peaceful feel. The king bed was very comfortable and all bathroom facilities appeared to have been recently upgraded. The manager/owner was most gracious and helpful. There are many stores, fast food restaurants, etc. nearby. Overall I was very impressed with the Sutton Inn and will stay here again the next time I go to Elkton Music Hall for a show.

Everything was perfect. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll definitely stay at the Sutton Inn. The owner was really nice and we were treated like family. My husband annoyed the stay as well.

The owner took exceptional care in maintaining and remodeling the property. He had accommodations available to keep my boat on the property and allowed me to use the outlets and an extension cord to charge my boat battery while I stayed for the weekend.

It was a great staying at a privately owned hotel vs one of the chains. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a nice layout with a nostalgic vibe. We walked to a local park with our dog. And the price was great
