Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The beds were a little soft and my husband suffered a back ache as a result. No one told us water was available at the front desk until our last day there. We had to ask.
We enjoyed the pool and it was nice to have an all inclusive breakfast. People were very friendly.

Some areas could use a bit of updating. Tucked way behind all of the other hotels in the area.
Wonderful front desk staff. Appreciated the free bottled water. Room was clean and comfortable.

There was a weird smell in the room
Very convenient for our stay, booked through a 3rd party and got a great deal. Got there late and left early but over all enjoyed our stay! Room was clean and looked nice

Small, bland facility & lobby, visually unappealing throughout, and the same price as nicer hotels right around the corner...Courtyard and Sheraton are both in the same complex and significantly nicer ( We know this because our neighbors were staying at the Sheraton on this group trip, and we mistakenly tried to check in to the Courtyard because our GPS directed us to their front door by accident)...pick one of these two instead
Clean, comfortable bed and pillows, food was well cooked - not slimy eggs and sausage like most hotels

coffee machine in room could have been better. Turkey patties called a "sausage" were not suited to British breakfast tastes & no alternative other than eggs.
Breakfast cereals choice was excellent as was bread for toasting variety

Our room had very low water pressure…shower and faucet were a trickle and the toilet took a lonnnng time to refill.
Extremely kind and helpful staff. Everyone was smiling and asking how they could help. Very nice breakfast too. There is an indoor pool as well.

Excellent location. Plenty of free parking. Grounds were well maintained. Staff was very professional and friendly. Housekeeping services were exceptional.

The pillows were too squishy, but the person at check-in offered to bring others. But he was the only one working there, so he could not bring them right away.
The breakfast was fine. The location was a little strange behind another hotel.

I was forced to give my credit card info at check in or I couldn’t stay. This violates my privacy rights. I had to give my credit card info for a supposed “hold” for $20 or I couldn’t have my room. The room was already paid for though booking.com to keep my credit card info private. I will be reporting this violation to the consumer protection agency.

Not a large variety for breakfast but what was there was good. Kinda hard to find when you aren’t familiar with the area.
Enjoyed the room and size of the tv. Couldn’t hear the other guests at all which was nice. Couldn’t find time to visit the pool but it looked clean.

On site facilities lacked a little, no where on site for drink or evening meal, this would make the hotel stay a little easier

my original booking was for 4/27 through 5/1. I had to check out early and was told by one of the staff that they would approve for me to cancel one night with extra charge, but the hotel did not honor that promise.
room was nicely clean. staffs was very friendly. breakfast is great.

Our bathtub jetts didn’t work. Sad because this was the reason we upgraded. Elevator was SLOW and only one appeared to be operating

Television was not working and previous tenant’s food and drink were not removed from the refrigerator prior to our check-in. We were promptly given a new room.
