Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI did not have a clean room when I arrived and walked into an uncleaned room with the TV on. I was pretty upset and had to drive back to Izaak Walter about it. The manager drove over to clean a room next door before I could sleep for the night. Train noises were an issue, and the TV left on as well. Eventually they gave me ear plugs the next night when I asked for it and turned the TV off and I had no trouble sleeping again. They paid for my dinner the final night to compensate for the inconvenience.
John the bartender was amazing.

United States of AmericaAmenities are lacking - no microwave or fridge in the entire hotel. WiFi is extremely slow, only fast enough for messages. You need to go to the nearby Izaak Inn to access any of the amenities, since they have microwaves, fridges and strong WiFi.
Location is great, very close to the West Glacier entrance at a significantly cheaper price than the hotels in the park. The staff is very helpful and they were very accommodating

United States of AmericaI remembered reading about the train whistles but didn't think it was a big deal. I think you should offer complimentary ear plugs to each person who stays there.
Your survey question asked about the breakfast. There wasn't any breakfast that I knew about. I did like the look and location of the hotel.

United States of AmericaWe came in late after hiking all day and there's no way to contact anyone. They forgot to give us the bedding for our daughter's futon bed. If you arrive late, you're on your own. And the wifi/cell is spotty, so be prepared.
Cute little motel. Affordable rates. Good location to Glacier Nat Park. Outdoor sitting area in back. Nice quiet area with lots of trees. We liked it

United States of AmericaI thought we had rented a "DOUBLE" room, meaning two beds, only to discover that "double" referred to the size of the only bed in the room. There was a "sofa bed" in the room, if you could call it that - it was a hard wooden contraption, very difficult to use, with a shabby, lumpy mattress. I barely slept the first night and ended up moving the "mattress" onto the ground to avoid the poking and digging of the sofa bed frame. Don't plan to use the futon/sofa bed, and you should be fine.
This was simple digs for an affordable price. The AC runs COLD COLD COLD and the shower had hot water and decent pressure. Compact and small, which bothers some folks, but I liked that. In the middle of nowhere, but close enough to the west entrance of Glacier and Whitefish and way cheaper than staying at either of those places.

CanadaWe were reimbursed our money through booking .com after me being huffy through phone calls and emails and the hotel since the location was substituted. Where we booked was closed.
We did not stay.Beautiful grounds with lots of railroad related signs and photos. Great assortment of tables games in bar. Pool, shuffleboard, ping pong, etc. If you are a light sleeper request a room NOT trackside. Can be noisy when freight trains go by.

United States of AmericaThe room is small. There is no air conditioner. Bathroom is very small. The hotel rate is not really cheap if you consider the room and the service.
This hotel charge me on one reservation even though I canceled the reservation before the free cancellation deadline on booking.com. When I called the hotel asking refund, the hotel refuse to do it. I had to ask booking.com to get the refund.

EcuadorThe Halfway Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. I guess it might be ok if you only need to sleep there, otherwise I would suggest looking for another place to stay
We actually didn’t end up staying at the Halfway Hotel, but at the Izaak Walton Inn (overbooked so they gave us a room there). The Izaak Walton is great, though! Would definitely recommend staying there.

United States of AmericaThe staff got confused about our two day stay. The next day as we were touring around, I got a very rude message saying we had not vacated the room and that they were moving our luggage into the hall. I called them and the front desk said they were moving us to another room so i said we'd return and move our luggage out. 5 min later they called and said we could stay in the same room. It started out very unprofessional but ended up with them being embarrassed and they made it right.
We were originally booked into Halfway Hotel for two nights. Thank the Lord we were upgraded to the Izaak Walton Inn with an Empire Builder room. It was small but quaint with train decorations. Restaurant was really good.

United States of AmericaThis hotel is the red headed stepchild of the Izaak Walton hotel and you will be treated as such. We were aware that there was no office here and we had to check in at the Izaac, about a mile away. When we checked in, we asked the guy where this hotel was and he said we should’ve seen it when we passed it. We told him it’s pitch black dark outside and we didn’t see anything. Turns out, the light on the halfway sign is out on the side where customers drive by to get to the Izaac. That was indicative of the rest of the stay. We booked the room for 5 nights and were provided with 2 towels. One of the towels had a (I’ll say ‘rust’ because I don’t want to say what it really looked like) stain. My husband and I used one towel to dry off that night after our showers. We called the Izaac in the morning to ask for more towels and a blanket and were told there’s no room service at this hotel and we would need to drive to the Izaac to ask for anything. There’s a door hangar (for show only, apparently)on our motel door with the usual privacy please and one side and needs service on the other. We went about our day, then went to the Izaac and felt like orphans from ‘Oliver’ as we asked ‘please sir may we have some more’ towels. We asked for a blanket to use as a cushion on the rock hard bed. We informed the guy that the shower head was clogged. He asked if enough water was coming out to shower. We told him it took me 20 minutes to rinse my hair. He said he would try to send someone down, which never happened. There are trains that come by every 45 minutes-1 hour and blow the horn 4 times every time, all night long. I could sleep through it because the air conditioner is extremely loud and drowns out the majority of the train noise and I’m a heavy sleeper. My husband is not but he brought ear plugs. This is a bare bones motel.
Location is right in between the east and west glacier entrances. The room had a bed, tv, sink, toilet, and shower.

United States of AmericaComfy bed after a long day of hiking. It's about 30 minutes to the West entrance of Glacier NP. Although I saw complaints about the train traffic, there really wasn't a lot of noise. The trees provide lots of sound deadening. Izaak Walton Inn down the road is where you check in and can get a bite to eat.

United States of AmericaThe codes on the doors scare me a little bit. I like the idea of not having to bring a card with me but what if someone stayed there before and remembered the code and got in? Still was very nice though!
It was close to the park entrance and was nice inside. You could tell it was newly remodeled. Kind of small for 3 of us and a dog but it worked out! It was a great place to crash after a long day of hiking!
