Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNot enough outlets available to charge my laptop. watch, small chargers, cellphone. And the sink needs an outlet for my toothbrush and curling iron.
I like staying in historic hotels. Rooms were cute and comfortable. It was a perfect location for our visit to Manzanar Relocation Site.

United States of AmericaThe housekeeper began pounding on my door at 8:20 in the morning. She became quite ugly when I got out of bed and told her to "go away". As I checked out, I mentioned the confrontation to the front desk. clerk. Much to my surprise, she told the manager. who called me later in the day to apologize for the maid's rude behavior. Apparently, I wasn't the first person to complain about her.
The Dow is a quaint, homey, old-timey hotel. As such, one doesn't expect a large, appliance-equipped room or super quiet room. The little town of Lone Pine has grown up around it and time has marched on. Given all that, I sort of collect old hotels and The Dow is a delightful example of the type. Pictures of John Wayne and other cowboy actors who have stayed there grace the walls. The feel is cozy and down-home. It has been well maintained without losing its charm

United States of AmericaA small desk or table area for my laptop would have been nice, but not completely necessary as I could have worked in one of the common areas.
I love the historic charm, with an updated bed. Got to take a soak in a real bathtub, one of my great pleasures. The dinner/restaurant recommendation was excellent.

United States of AmericaOn this second visit, we stayed in the original historic building and it was much smaller and older with only one bed. I may have missed the fact that there were older, historic rooms and a newer rooms. Our stay was quaint and charming, but my expectations were off. There was nothing wrong with the room; it was clean and quiet, we simply could have used more space.
We loved the location and, in fact, we had stayed here before. However, previously, we were in the "new" addition, and the room was much bigger and had two beds or a bed and a couch. This was what I was expecting.

United States of AmericaI stayed in the main "historic" part of the hotel. It's what you would expect from a old building, squeaky floors, etc., but it's kept up well. They even use real keys. Location is great, right in the middle of town. Staff was very friendly. There's coffee by the front desk.

United KingdomDifficult to get up early (as we were for photography) and be quiet as room is creaky. However could always choose motel section.
Historic hotel with lots of movie memorabilia. I’ve stayed in the motel before where rooms are much larger and more modern but old part of hotel was cool. Rooms are quite creaky but comfortable and clean. Good shower with all toiletries provided including hair conditioner. Coffee/tea and hot water available in lobby. Right in centre of Lone Pine, handy for restaurants and Whitney Portal/Alabama Hills. Very good value for price. Staff friendly and helpful.

United States of AmericaI can't think of anything that could have been better. Everything matched my expectations. Of course, you can always hope it's a little cheaper (but $80 per night is not bad). Maybe the parking could have been secure, rather than just open to the street but it's a small town and I liked the freedom to come and go as I pleased.
The staff were very welcoming, and helped me out with tools when I had to do a minor repair to my motorcycle. The room was perfect size, comfortable, and great temperature. The ensuite was comfortable, water was nice and hot with good pressure. I really enjoyed the lounge/lobby area as a place to converse with other guests on their way through the hotel. Ample parking. Right in the middle of town and walking distance to everything.

United States of AmericaRooms definitely need updated and the bed was very uncomfortable. But we stayed in a smaller room and it was the last available so I get it.
It was the last room available anywhere and we got the room for a good price. Good for a one night stay.
