Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BrazilNote that it’s a building from, probably, the forties (Art Deco is still in some constructive details). It has just 2 floors and no elevator. No big deal, but be prepared to bring your bag by the stair. Breakfast space is small to the regular demand perhaps you will need to wait in the queue a few minutes. Such 2 items didn’t compromise the 2 days we stayed there.
Close to the Walk of Fame, so the basic of LA is 5min walk distance. Room has a good size.

This hotel is in a perfect location for access to the well know blvd, Easy bus to Santa Monica Blvd, Pier and Venice Beach. Definitely give the bikes on the esplanade ago.

New ZealandThere isn't anything we disliked. We knew exactly what to expect and had read some of the reviews before booking this Hotel. It isn't the 'Hotel Carlton Ritz', it is a humble hotel and for the location it is very well reasonably priced - and you felt safe.
Lovely welcome to reception when we arrived. It was too early to check in, but we left our suitcases with the wonderful woman at the desk, who popped our bags into the room, once the room was available (while we were out exploring Hollywood). The location of the hotel is perfect! So close to everything and literally a 2 minute walk through the Ovation Mall alley way to the Hollywood Blvd. The staff help were great, room is basic, but has enough space to do cartwheels and has everything you need. The bed was VERY comfortable. Breakfast is limited, but it does mention this on the website - so that was absolutely fine. The lovely staff lady, Patricia - was such a darling and ensured all guests that arrived for breakfast, had everything they needed even making waffles for guests, if they wanted it. Patricia was such a delight to talk to - she even remembered guests names. She really did make you feel at home.

AustraliaThe parking was very tight and sometimes full BUT staff valet parked for us when we couldn't get a space which was great. The laundry facilities unfortunately were out of action for days which was a hassle.
The breakfast was simple but good, the breakfast lady Patricia was so super friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect, close to walk to the main Hollywood strip, close to walk to a nearby national park with amazing views, easy access for driving, very central. The rooms were very comfortable, beds were massive. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Would totally recommend if your not looking for something flashy but need something spacious, tidy, clean, quiet and centrally located in the heart of Hollywood

JerseyNot much. Needs bringing up to date, but it’s no biggy. We could also hear the guests in the upstairs room a little too much.
Welcoming staff (especially Patricia who worked tirelessly, always with a smile and real friendly, client focused manner.) Room was big and had everything we needed and the hotel (probably needs a little modernisation, but is still more than adequate) is close to the boulevard and attractions.
