Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe location sucks. It's not the nicest area, and the only bus line nearby is The Deuce. At first glance, the place doesn't seem so bad, but it's got a weird vibe, and it's 90% men. They looked at me funny - not sure what gives. For having several hostels nearby, there isn't a grocery store in site, nor a pharmacy. If there's one nearby, the office guy didn't mention it. Everyone was cooking; not sure where they shop.
Inexpensive for sure. It does the job for a cheap, short stay. The bungalows are cute, and there's plenty of patio space, though I didn't see anyone out there while I was there. It's close to the arts district, which has some cool vintage shops, bars, etc. All of the wedding chapels are there, as well as the pawn shop from Pawn Stars!

United States of AmericaTiny, poorly maintained bathroom for 6 people to share (5'x6' bathroom with 3 inches of saggy counter space, dingy). Doors squeek loudly or only close with a slam (hard to sleep). Kitchen access hours are limited. Dorms are colorless, no chairs/desk/table (as basic as it gets).
Beautiful courtyard, nice staff, a fraction of the cost of a hotel. Lockers are good. Clean linens. Pretty close to busses. Every bunk seems to have a power outlet. Despite the negatives, I'd stay there again when hotel rates are peaking.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is small but neat. The curtains on the bed is a plus. It was cool in in the room December, and the heating air conditioner helped a lot. Another plus is that the hostel has a pleasant common area

Germany-> The room got really cold at night, my friend and I were freezing in our first night. When we told the stuff, they tried to fix it but the second night was almost as cold. -> When we went for a day trip to Grand Canyon, I left a bra behind under the pillow on my bed. In the evening it was gone and the staff didn’t know where it was. I later found it in the laundry bag between the sheets of past travelers.
-> most affordable option available in Las Vegas (at the time when we booked)

BrazilThe bathroom could have glass doors instead of a plastic curtain. The metal structures of the beds make a lot of noise if someone is in the upper bunker, which can make your night really a nightmare. The rooms could also use a table and chairs just to make some things easier to handle in the room. The lockers are small and don't fit larger luggage, making you to store your luggage under the bed without any protection besides lockers for the bags.
The hostel is well located in the South of LV. The garden is the only thing that is beautiful in there. The password door makes it easier to enter and exit the hostel. The Dulce bus stop is right beside the hostel, which makes it easier for you to go up and down the strip.

AustraliaThe hostel was supposed to have laundry available, however due to the backlog of bedding laundry that the hostel needed to do, I was unable to do my own laundry. Instead I was told "come back later" more than once, which was highly unhelpful. I appreciate that the hostel has their own laundry to do, but they shouldn't advertise that it is available for guests, if it's not going to be.
