Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was table with no chair. The lock on the mounding wouldn’t work as the molding was just hangin there. It needs maintenance
Free breakfast was served from 5 to 9. The staff was polite and helpful

The room was warm and opening the window meant a lot of sound from the outside. We did not sleep well.
It was just okay. Passable for one night, very basic, don't expect anything and you'll be fine. If you want to be very comfortable and have more than one night, I would suggest somewhere else.

Rooms are extremely old, smells , can't control or turn off heat in room. Carpets are destroyed.

I understand a hotel wasn’t it’s first intention so I take that into consideration, BUT… this is my second and more than likely last time staying there. The hotel has a high occupancy rate from my experience. I also know a fair amount of the year isn’t prime tourism season and as a resident the nuances of Alaska living and operating costs, but the money coming in clearly isn’t being used to maintain or upgrade the facility. It’s dated and worn out. The minor repairs I did notice are shoddy. How much caulking can you use before realizing you need professional repair or renovations. On the bright side the sheets and towels are clean but overall cleanliness could be much much better. We had pee splatters on the base of our toilet and I’m not sure if they ever run a vacuum. Breakfast is iffy at best if you can wade through the chaos and stand in line for a single microwave and a horribly disorganized serving area. I don’t mean to bash the place, but it has incredible potential being squandered. If you have another option take it, because the Keystone is not (to me) worth the price.
It’s in Valdez so location is great. I want to like the hotel, but it’s hard. Staff was reasonably pleasant. Clean towels and bedding.

Room is really small and they walls are thin. Bring earplugs as you can hear everyone talking in the next room.
We needed a place to stay 1 night close to the ferry so the location was great. The breakfast and coffee were good. They serve at 5am which was great as we had to be at the ferry at 530am. They had breakfast sandwiches, waffle maker, cereal, muffins and bagels. Bathroom was clean but not enough towels. The front desk was able to give us more upon request and was very pleasant.

Walls between rooms are very thin - you can easily hear conversation of other people. Weird people handing out on chairs outside of the hotel in the evening. The hotel is very basic, don`t have too high expectation about the interior.
Room was specious and clean. Staff of the hotel is very kind and helpful. There is an option to do laundry in the hotel. Breakfast is available but don`t expect too much (at least for someone who is from Europe ;)). Good wifi.
